Chirayu Amin is appointed as interim IPL commissioner

Mumbai: Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) have appointed Mr. Chirayu Amin as interim IPL commissioner. Shashank Manohar, BCCI Chairman has announced this following the meeting of IPL governing council on April 26 morning.

Chirayu Amin is the President of Baroda Cricket Association and known as rival of Lalit Modi. He is an industrialist working on pharmaceuticals.

BCCI suspended IPL commissioner Lalit Modi following Lalit Modi- Shashi Tharoor controversy. IPL controversy forced Shashi Tharoor to resign on April 21, 2010.

BCCI suspended Lalit Modi as IPL commissioner immediately after the completion of IPL 3 final match. BCCI have send Lalit Modi a 22 point show cause notice.

BCCI have charged Lalit Modi of corruption in several cases.

Lalit Modi, however, tweeted that he is still the IPL commissioner as he is only suspended and not sacked from the post of IPL commissioner.
