Alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on Full House, another name that appeared was of Jodie Sweetin's. A few years later the name became the fodder for gossip pages over the web, as the stories of her drug abuse, drinking problems and a controversial divorce came out.
Stephanie Tanner appeared on this Monday's Today show to talk about her new book, UnSweetined, which is an autobiography of Jodie Sweetin, and her uneven past. She told Matt Lauer, the co-anchor of NBC News' Today, that she started her journey towards the road to ruin at the age of 14. She took her first sip of alcohol at a wedding.
"It was the beginning of my drinking and using drugs," Jodie told Matt. "I had always been looking, I guess, for that thing that made me fit in my own skin."
Her autobiography unSweetined was released in November, and revealed that she had been driving drunk with her daughter, it quotes, "That was the big rock bottom. I had two glasses of wine and drove with her in the car. I not only put myself in danger, but also my daughter, who I loved more than anything. I felt terrible."
Jodie Sweetin is now again single as her divorce from her second husband Cody Herpin was finalized this week. The former child star filed for legal separation from Cody Herpin in November 2008 that was seven months after she gave birth to the couple's first child, daughter Zoie. Brenda Jones stated that the former Full House star was also told to pay child support to her ex-husband for her 2-years-old daughter. The report revealed that the two will share custody of their daughter Zoie. The support is set at $600 (£400) per month, TMZ reports.
This was the second marriage for Sweetin. She married L.A. police officer Shaun Holguin at 20.
