Bara: The Pakistani army gave compensation on Thursday to the families of the victims of the Tirah air strikes on April 10, 2010.
Brigadier Basit presented the cheques at a ceremony for the Kuki Khel tribe in the Shakuf Fort in the Jamrud Tehsil of Khyber Agency.
Compensation of Rs.2 lakh each was given to families of the deceased while Rs.1 lakh each was given to the injured. A political agent of the Khyber Agency, Shafirullah Wazir, was also present at the ceremony.
Wazir also announced that the injured would be provided free medical treatment and that the relatives of the victims would be appointed as levies in the FC.
Kuki Khel tribesmen expressed their gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani and pledged their assistance in the fight against terror.
