Nuclear summit

New York: Nuclear summit has yielded some very important diplomatic progress. President Obama is successful little bit. Ukraine has agreed to give up its highly enriched uranium (heu). It is very important development. Ukraine was a member of former USSR. There is huge possibility that members of the former USSR might sell their fissile material to the wrong people. It may also have been stolen. This is a great fear of the post-cold war era.

Russian and Chinese representatives have likely to be agreed to a new round of sanctions against the Iranian regime. This is also an important development.

Presidents of America (Obama) and China (Hu Jintao) are agreed that two delegations should work on a sanctions resolution in New York. Jeffrey A. Bader, senior director for Asian affairs, the National Security Council (America) informed. He added that the Chinese had made clear that they are prepared to work with the US.

These are slow steps toward diplomatic cooperation. These took eight long years to reach this stage of American nuclear diplomacy Further steps will be possible if this diplomacy works and an atmosphere of mutual trust is created.

In the mean time huge controversy is created for not inviting India in the dinner hosted for NAM countries. The Vice-President of America hosted a lunch for the representatives of Non Alien movement (NAM). He did not invite India in that dinner. India is among the founders of NAM movement. The American government has given a lame excuse for not inviting India in that dinner. A spokes person told that only those were invited who have signed NPA. It is worth noted that both India and America have not yet signed NPA.

India has made it clear that their record for non proliferation is clean. This step of the US government may cause political and diplomatic distance between the two biggest democracies India and America, in the world.

Maybe it is time for India to stop sucking up to the USA, who has time and again proved that they cant be trusted.

I only hope that all those who are present at this summit do not end up with signing more sanctions against Iran, but I get the feeling that this this is going to be the outcome.
As far as India is concerned, it should stop sucking up to Obama; not that I don't trust the American people but its their leaders who have no idea about whats going on.
