Hillary Clinton is Worse than Joe McCarthy

The millions of liberal Americans who go to bed every night thinking they are better than their grandparents who gave into McCarthyism are supporting the career of a far more destructive political figure than Tailgunner Joe: Hillary ClintonHillary Clinton.

Like Joseph McCarthyJoseph McCarthy, Hillary is a second rate politician who is using fear of a foreign enemy to advance her career. The sad thing is that McCarthy at least had a real enemy to rail against and a semblance of real power to use against his enemies. Hillary has nothing but the gullibility and laziness of America’s media and intellectuals to rely upon. Indeed in comparison to Hillary Clinton, Joseph McCarthy sounds quite sane and reasonable.

McCarthy preyed on the popular fear that a minority of Americans was giving aid and support to a brutal empire bent on world conquest. The Empire was the Soviet Union and history sadly indicates that there was some validity to McCarthy’s claims. Modern scholarship has proven that a number of Americans were working actively with Russian spies to help the Soviets win the Cold War in the early 1950s. Now this group was a tiny minority that had no popular support but it was real and it did some damage.

The hysteria Hillary Clinton is preying upon, on the other hand is entirely artificial. McCarthy could at least point to a powerful Soviet Union that had achieved significant military victories over Nazi Germany as a threat. Hillary is saying that a regime that can’t control the streets of its own capitol; the Iranian Islamic Republic, is a threat to the United States. She demands that we impose a regime of sanctions on Iran that the most rabid anticommunist would not have imposed on the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War.

The Soviet Union had a vast arsenal of nuclear weapons and a huge arsenal of conventional weapons. Not to mention millions of sympathizers around the world who were willing to work to advance its sick cause. Iran which might develop a nuclear weapon sometime in the future, has an arsenal consisting of Vietnam War surplus stuff we gave to the Shah and probably doesn’t have any real support for its “revolution” in its own country.

Yet Hillary Clinton is demanding is that we impose stringent sanctions on Iran and has all but publicly demanded a military attack upon a country that hasn’t harmed us. The woman is of course an egotistical monster, whom the American people were right to reject in the Democratic primary.

The sad thing is that Hillary Clinton now has control of our foreign policy. She is free to brand some nations as enemies and others such as China our friends. Unlike Joe McCarthy she can’t destroy anybody’s reputation or brand anyone a traitor. Yet the media and Congress refuse to question her behavior. Nobody is asking why the Secretary of State is doing everything in her power to start an unnecessary war with a third rate power.

Those who bowed to McCarthy’s hysteria at least had the fear of career destruction. Hillary doesn’t have the power to hurt or insult anyone yet she is in a position to get us into an unnecessary war or at least cause an international incident. How this state of affairs came about I don’t know but I do know one thing, Joseph McCarthy ultimately destroyed himself and his career with his stupidity and did untold damage to his country and the cause of freedom in the process. Hillary will do the same and I fear do far more damage in the process. Unlike McCarthy she may actually get innocent people hurt and killed.

How long I wonder will the American people and President Obama put up with Hillary? I hope it isn’t for much longer because the woman is in a position to do some real damage.
