Around 7:30 ET several "explosions" were visible in the western sky above Manassas, VA. The cause of the "explosions" are unknown at this time. Possible causes could be: reentry of space debris, meteor entry and breakup in Earth's atmosphere, castastropic loss of airborne craft of other type device.

The observation made by Judith Matlock-Shannon described the debris trail as including three to four "pieces" burning and trailing through the sky. After seeing the initial burn, Mrs. Matlock-Shannon continued to observe the phenomena for a period of 3-5 minutes.
