As a part of the celebrations of 150 years of cadet movement, Prince Philip and the Queen were meeting the female sea cadets when the Duke asked one of them whether she worked in a strip club. It took the 24-year old Elizabeth Randle by surprise. It seems the Duke had enquired of her what she did for a living and she replied that she worked in a night club. To this, the Duke put the question of whether it was a strip club!! It shocked Elizabeth and probably embarrassed the Duke as well because night club is a different kettle of fish compared to strip clubs. The Duke and the Queen had gone to visit a team of sea cadets in the Wyvern barracks in Exeter, Devon and during the informal meet the Royal Couple was mingling with the cadets to make them feel at ease.
