Former Olympian Marion Jones becomes a member of the Tulsa Shock

Ex-Olympian Marion Jones Joins WNBA

Marion Jones 34, who spent six months in jail in 2008 for check fraud and lying about using the steroid STH to help her win five medals in the 2000 Summer Olympic games joined the Tulsa Shock of the Women's National Bsketball Assoication (WNBA) on Wednesday. Her salary with the team for the 2010 season will be the league minimum of $35,000 dollars. Marion was a member of the 1994 North Carolina women's basketball team. Her basketball coach Nolan Richardson was the head coach of the 1994 University of Arkansas men basketball program. The Tulsa franchise was formerly the Detroit Shock. Marion said she is through apologizing for her past miskates and wants to start a new career playing basketball. The Shock open the season versus Minnesota Lynx on May 15, 2010 in Tulsa Oklahoma.
