Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and samajwadi party (SP) have decided to withdraw support from the UPA government. Lalu Prasad yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav supremos of both the parties have announced this on March 9, 2010 after government had put women reservation bill in the Rajyasabha.

Both the Yadavs will meet Ms. Pratibha Patil, Hon'ble President of India today on march 10, 2010 to handover letters of withdrawing support.

Both SP and RJD are supporting UPA from out side unconditionally since the last parliamentary election.

UPA could manage to pass women reservation bill in Rajyasabha with the help of main opposition party BJP despite strong opposition from both SP and RJD.

Seven members of Rajyasabha has been suspended from Rajyasabha during the discussion on women reservation bill. Most of them are from these parties.

Withdrawl of support from both the parties will not affect the UPA government immedietly as they still have majority in Loksabha. However, it can affect the government and Indian politics in long term. Lalu Prasad Yadav of RJD told that UPA government will become unstable and can not complete its full term.
