Earlier today Cabo San Lucas in San Luis Obispo caught on fire. The cause is unknown and it may not be discovered due to substantial damage from the fire and water. It took fire fighters all day to put out the fire, the local television station was still reporting live from the Foothill location on the late afternoos newscast.
Previous to Cabo San Lucas occupying that spot, Burger King resided in the spot. When discussed in class Cabo San Lucas was a well known spot and a favorite with the locals.
It will be interesting to see what happens to that location. Will they rebuild? Or will the owner just call it quits? According to the later news broadcast the fire damage will cost over a million dollars to restore the property.
With hard economic times and new building requirements it will be interesting to see what ends up in that spot. The owner of the restaurant made a brief appearance on the newscast but did not say very much about the future plans for the restaurant.
It was also unfortunate as employees were now displaced and the Kona sandwhich shop which is also in that location was reported to have substantial smoke damage. Hopefully they will be able to open the other business soon in that shopping center. Currently they were closed because of no electricity.
The gas station next store was also closed for most of the day due to the fire and possible complications.
