MF Husain, Indian no more?

Owasis Husain, the son of M F Husain, the 94-year old painter of India has confirmed from Dubai that the illustrious painter has finally decided to accept the citizenship of Qatar. M F Husain had been hounded out of India by radical Hindu extremist groups who had vandalized many of his paintings. The Qatari citizenship was offered to the painter without his applying for it, it was an act of generosity of the Royal family of the Emirates. Husain’s crime was that he let his imagination run wild while painting Hindu Gods and Goddesses. He went into self exile in 2006 when the Hindu elements set a price of $11.5 million on his head.
