Iran in the Press (March 30, 2009)

Russia delays the delivery of S-300 advanced air defense missile to Iran. Russia is supporting western side by delaying these S-300 Missile to Iran. Russian authorities said that the delivery has been delayed due to some technical problems in missile system but that’s not the truth. USA and Israel are putting pressure on Russia to do not deliver the missile system to Iran.

USA don’t wants Iran to be strong in military defense system. On other side Iran is insisting that its atomic program is for peaceful purposes but last week Iran announced that the enrichment or uranium has been increased from 3.5 percent to 20 percent which puts USA in doubt regarding Atomic program of Iran. Experts said that nuclear bomb needs 90 percent of enrichment but still 20 percent enrichment from Iran is very suspicious.

Russia can block the sales of S-300 missile system to Iran. Because international powers are stopping Russia to sale missile system to Iran. Russia and Iran had good relationship in fact Russia was building Iran’s first atomic power station but now both countries have become stained recently.
