Kapil Sibbal, Union cabinet Minister HR, has declared new policies on Indian education today. It will bring major changes in Indian education syatem.
The most important announcement is about child education. Students below the age of 4 can not be entered in to a school. It is worth noted that large numbers of Indian parents enter their kids in to a nursery schools or play groups in an age less than four. this is a general practice in India especially among the middle class. Some times they are entered even at the age of 2.
This puts lots of pressure on those Children and to the pockets of their parents. Only the school owners reap the benefit.
Kapil Sibbal has also announced that there will be a similar sylabus in all state education boards. At present every state education board has their own syllabus. However, there is a Central Board of Education (CBSE) that runs separately in all states and union teritories of India. CBSE conducts examinations for class X and class XII. There are CBSE affiliated schools out side India especially in the middle east.
Another important announcement is about centralised examination (admission test) for all categories in science streams. There will be only one test to cover all medical and engineering admission tests according to the new policy.
