The Bhasma (burnt residue) of deadones.

Lord Shiva's out of twelve Jyoti lings ,there is one at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh,which is Mahakal temple. This is world's one and only Dakshinmuki Shivling.

It is considered extremely important in terms of Tantrik. According to historical documents, Mahakal's praise has hosted from Mahabharata's VedcVyas to Kalidas.

Mahakal temple was rebuilt in ancient 11 th century .

Almost 140 years after, the Delhi king Sultan Ilhutmis had damaged Mahakal temple.

The present temple is believed Marathakalin. Whose renovation was made by Baba Ramchandra Shainvi nearly 250 years ago .Here the Maha Aarti is done by burnt residue ( Bhasma).

This ritual is very uncanny and is held between 4 to 6AM local time with Vedic chants, hymn text, instrument, conch, drum and bell amidst prayers .

With loud voices of Bam..Bam..Bhole, prayer is waking to your innocent heart.

During the worship we could not go with ordinary clothes into the sanctum sanctorum. Men have to wear silk Sola (dhoti) and women to wear the sari ,then after they can go into the sanctum sanctorum.

The main thing is, only men ar included in the main ritual. Women are kept out here at this time.

Visitors to remain outside of the sanctum sanctorum,where they can take the joy of supernatural prayer .

There is unbelievable Legend : Formerly there Bholenath's make up was done with the Bhasma of deadones,

but once upon a time Mahakal's priest have did not received the fresh Bhasma of deadone,so he immidietly

surrendered his alive son to fire ,and those innocent son turned into Bhasma ,for the makeup of Bholenath .
