Eight long years after the occurrence of 9-11 and the recent Fort Hood incident now in which on all the U.S. television stations there is now a replay of the event surrounding 9-11 with the Departments involved pointing fingers at one another, it does appear that the only measures which have been taken since that time have been in continuing to place global commerce and laizze faire immigration and foreign visitation policies for commercial interests above the national security in securing effectively both our borders, and applications from unfriendly Middle Eastern countries while we are still engaged in this conflict.
And more closely scrutinzing any and all those first or second generation Americans from some of those countries in military or publicly funded positions, at least until this "war" has ended, or placing them not simply in non-combat positions, but also in their base assignments with a little more common sense.
Although in light of Fort Hood, it is unbelieveable that a "pacifist" would have enlisted in our military to begin with, much less then continued to re-enlist at least twice during the past eight years. And then placed on a base in Texas, no less, a state which has had its share of victimization by foreigners through the open borders and loss of life of many of their youth also during this continuing war?
Who was in charge of marking base assignments or evaluating this enlistee doctor, a psychiatrist from all reports, with a Middle Eastern background and avowed pacifist for even induction, actually?
It does appear nothing has changed with respect to the political spin doctoring that occurs after incidences now such as these. Even with the thousands upon thousands of "new" government jobs that the taxpayers are funding for the Bush created Department of Homeland Security.
While Americans that are calling for true border security in securing our borders effectively with Mexico and Canada, many of whom have been victims themselves of this negligence over the years in lost lives and property damage, are being labeled as "extremists" and placed on "watch lists" due to their outrage at giving state legislators Blackberries under the stimlus, yet claiming poverty when sums are still being withheld for the provisions of a physical deterrant under the Congressionally approved 2006 Secure Fence Act?
And then issuing, even in light of the now thousands more lives which have been destroyed post 9-11 by our open borders, visa waivers with only 48 hour security checks to over 34 different countries as was given under an Executive Order signed by outgoing President Bush his last 100 days in office?
The provisions of the National Security Letters marginalizing many Americans who take exception to these policies still has not been rescinded or at least not publicly addressed and announced under Mr. Obama nor this Congress - and thus effectively is still in effect, which has in addition to the "right wing extremist" memorandums sent out potentially put over 2/3rds of the U.S. citizens on "watch lists," since Congress still has a less than 15% approval rating, and Mr. Obama's stats are declining rapidly also since these necessary and needed redress of the "removal of habeas corpus" and "guilty until proven innocent" monitoring of U.S. citizens included within it and Constitutional violations are being put on the back burner while instead an added tax in the form of "fining" many Americans who are now jobless and homeless for not purchasing health insurance has taken top priority.
Madness doesn't even begin to describe what is now coming off the Hill, nor continuing to victimize the victims who are speaking up and out about the craziness which has transpired since 9-11 in continuing to place "commerce" above "national security," so far as to now leave the American people with the tab for even global corporations such as AIG in the process, and the banks which somehow were "bankrupt" but yet many of which are major shareholders in our Federal Reserve itself.
Whose major stockholders are, of course, the British banking concerns determining our economic policies without any scrutiny or accountability whatsoever to Congress but simply the Treasury Secretary, who is a former employee of the Fed itself.
The global economy may be rallying, but it appears it is the American people who are making the sacrifices now of their lives, homes and jobs for the "greater" global community - even at the risk of our national security in continuing in some of these foreign alliances which have progressively also resulted in more and more "interventionist" wars that then lead to our national security then also being further compromised on wars in which the U.S. has become involved in this "spreading democracy" throughout the world, which truly isn't the U.S. intended form of government at all - but a Constitutional republic and "representative" one restricting our "representatives" from representing foreigners (nations or out of state individuals or concerns).
The only real stimulus which has occurred has been for the banks, and state legislatures governmental budgets for mainly the purchase of high tech gadgetry at this point, while the states are claiming also bankruptcy when the state governments, after all, were the primary benefactors of most of those "public monies."
Thus, the American citizens are paying for both the tab for the deficit for those monies in inflationary taxes (college tuitions now going up, when they have exceeded the cost of living throughout the nation over ten fold progressively?), while the states then are adding new and increasing taxes in order to fund their budgets for true governmental purposes now that the monies which the stimulus was sold to the public to provide - such as in California, Arizona, Louisiana, and almost every state throughout the nation, are also announcing and initiating increases in sales and other new added taxes on the citizens, is not simply a double whammy but even triple and quadruple taxation in many areas.
Not to mention the potential increased utility bills and such which have occurred due to privatizing many of our public untility companies in order to bulk up Wall Street and "encourage" foreign investment even in America's infrastructure at this point, with also that much disputed and questionably Constitution "Cap & Trade" taxation that has no basis in fact with respect to now taxing the actual air Americans breathe for the "global" economy once again.
And now this health care deform added burden and taxation, with a great many Americans outraged at the industry favoring terms mostly provided within it, lack of any true regulation or accountability, and "fines" for Americans noncompliance that are losing their jobs and homes, or have been, right and left.
The unemployment rate is still climbing, no matter what the Department of Labor publishes, because the fact is that many Americans unemployment has simply run out, or many had small businesses which do not "qualify" for any governmental assistance when those businesses go under. So those figures are pure fantasy to begin with at this point.
Increasing publicly funded colleges since it didn't appear there were any "payback" terms in those sums granted by the federal government for higher education, is simply another tax also on the citizens. An "inflationary" tax it appears, without any basis for just why tuitions are going up so high at this point when the costs as they are now have placed college educations out of the realm of possibility for most.
Even with those student loans which are also becoming more and more "flex" loans by those banks, since scholarships and grants are going to provide now even tuition for foreigners rather than even American students at many public universities.
Arizona has an added tax on cigarette sales funding health care for kids, but no word on whether if this new federal health care deform is enacted, those taxes then will be rescinded, or merely shifted as another unaccountable source of revenue for that state for more and more corporate welfare and discretionary expenditures outside public scrutiny.
I think the tea baggers haven't really addressed the 'big picture' here - since it appears with corporate donors now spreading their cash to both political parties and outside their state domiciles for literally decades, there hasn't been any form of "representation" of the American people or John Q. Public at all insofar as district representation.
As the global economy gains ground, the American economy and Americans have become the victims in the name of sacrificing for the "greater good" of the global economy.
Isn't returning to "global government" under British rule through the bankers and ownership of our Fed, and at this point even privatizing our nuclear facilities on the global exchange, not less, at this point great, America?
