According to Google Mobile Blog they have Google Maps Navigation running on Android 1.6. Well for those of you that don't know what Google Maps Navigation is it's an Internet connect GPS system with voice guidance & rerouting via your mobile phone. Google Maps Navigation will have offer new layers feature which allow the user to overlay geographical information on maps. The new feature also allows people to view transit lines & Wikiapedia articles on places. Google Maps Navigation will allow the user to type or voice their search into Google Maps Navigation to map out your route. Google Maps Navigation will bring up a fresh map and show business, traffic information, satellite view & street view along your route.So go to the Android Market and download the new version of Google Maps.
