McDonald's Philippines and 8McDo are feted not just for the food they serve, but for CSR programs and other activities that highlight 2009 for the company. Aside from serving quality food and world-class services, the innovative fast food restaurant chain wraps up 2009 with civic and employee-related activities as well.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES--McDonald’s Philippines has been dealing with other activities aside from providing food services such as 8Mcdo and its online delivery from the McDonald’s fast food restaurants. Its other activities include charity work and entertainment.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities has produced its first batch of graduates through its literacy program Bright Minds Read. The program aims to fight illiteracy in the Philippines, particularly in NCR. This program has produced thousands of elementary graduates.

On the other hand, two Filipinos landed on the semi-finals of Voice of McDonald’s, a singing contest exclusive only for McDonald’s crew members. Chenee Capuyan and Radjie Zaragoza will be competing in 2010 in Orlando, Florida, the venue for this 2010 worldwide singing contest.

Meanwhile 8McDo also bagged two prestigious awards in the recently concluded Tambuli Awards 2009. Two of McDonald’s campaigns won bronze and silver. The very successful “Burger! Burger” television commercial won silver as the Most Effective Teens Brand Campaign.

The Tambuli Awards is the sole award-giving body in the Philippines that recognizes both business and socially relevant marketing communications results.

These activities are the highlights of McDonald’s this year. Aside from providing quality food and services, the innovative fast food restaurant also deals with civic and employee-related activities.

ABOUT THE COMPANY: McDonald’s is the world’s leading quick service restaurant, serving affordable and quality food. In the Philippines McDonald’s offers delivery through 8McDo and also accepts delivery online through www.McDelivery.com.PH
