N.Y.-An autistic teenager from Brooklyn spent 11 days riding subway trains. Before police found him.He was afraid to go home.He got in trouble at school and thought he would be punished when he got home.

Francisco Hernandez Jr. suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, which makes him prone to odd behavior.

His mother said she feels her son would have been found sooner. If the cops had taken the case more seriously. She said,"I felt because i was a Mexican immigrant, there was no real urgency:.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said they made a "reasonable effort to find the teenager".

If the police in NY took this long to find a missing child on the subway, then there is no possible way that people should think that they would be capable enough to stop another terrorist attack.

The disrespect shown to people based on their race, among other things, is just awful.

I agree with the fact made by cgirlyeah, but surely the parents may have something to do with this too? I mean, the kid said he was scared to go home in case he was punished, so what kind of parenting does that show?
