Global warming skeptics seize emails that doubt on climate change

Global warming skeptics were quick to pillage through emails after hackers broke into the server of a prominent British university that researches climate change.

The hackers were successful in obtaining emails that allegedly prove global warming is overstated and human influence on the environment is overstated.

Documents within the hacked email include discussion among researchers whether current trends could be disputed by skeptics and how to best combat those arguments.

Drafts of the technical documents and photos were discovered that could spark major debates in the world of science and administrations that are promoting economic policy based on the results of that scientific theory. For those who remain leery about whether the globe is actually warming or cooling, these documents could shed negative light within the scientific community.

According to a climatologist who faults the current global-warming hysteria, Patrick Michaels says, “This is not a smoking gun; this is a mushroom cloud.”

However, it is revealed that the bulk of the emails were simply about how best to describe the cooling trend currently taking place and how it contradicts what researchers predicted in the past.

The skeptic web sites pointed to one line that leads them to believe the science behind global warming is a hoax, “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t,” wrote Dr. Kevin Trenberth a climatologist for the National Center for Atmospheric Research in a report from Fox News.

It was confirmed by officials at University of East Anglia that their server had been hacked, but they refused to authenticate material showing up on the Internet throughout the world.

The Telegraph.co.uk printed more contemptuous emails that suggest the researchers manipulated evidence and had private doubts about the reality of global warming.

One thing is certain there is a lot of disagreement between countries regarding climate change and as the Al Gore’s of the world look to Copenhagen in December to lament world policy and set stringent guidelines for companies to follow, global-warming alarmist may have to wait for science to actually catch-up to their philosophy.

All I know is, I can feel the temperature, and it feels warmer than usual. You know the situation is bad when the Klondike Bar polar bear is swimming laps with Kool Aid Man. Isn't that enough evidence?

Even without these emails, more and more people are coming to the conclusion that Global Warming is more hoax than fact.

Global warming is a fact, it is very evident so no matter those hackers do they can't be of help.

Sorry Greenlily;

Facts are backed up by science, and global warming isn't. Currently over 31,000 scientists have circulated a petition to disavow global warming; the email prove that the perpetrators falsified evidence, and modified models to obtain the results they wanted... that would get you booted from a high school science fair. I have plenty of links if you want to read the research... if not, continue on... life is certainly easier that way.

David Horowitz even goes so far as to call them "watermelons; green on the outside, and red on the inside... the radical environmental crowd has been using the threat of global warming to kill fossil fuels, and has developed other feeble ideas, like "Peak Oil", attempting to show that we are running out of fossil fuels; that isn't the case; we are finding vast new reserves of fossil fuels every day.

actually i would like the links. my son, a future nobel prize winner in science...:), who will be home for thanksgiving this week is a strong believer in global warming and i would like his take on what you have read. i am sure these emails will be a turkey topic...lol

At this URL, go down under part 2, and the Junk Science vs. Real Science, and click the link. It will allow you to pull up a 12 page document that is the best I've seen so far. I think most of the rest of my links basically say the same things... they're on my work computer so I'll look at them this afternoon...

Facts need not be backed up by science all the time. Your own experience will always prove it is a fact.

"Facts need not be backed up by science all the time. Your own experience will always prove it is a fact."

If that were true, we would still believe the Earth was flat, and that we are the center of the universe...

On things we don't know, experience is a great teacher; when we have absolute facts to refute something, that is a better metric. Believe as you choose... none are so blind as those who merely choose not to see...

The earth's core is heating, this has been common scientific knowledge since at leeast the early 1900's due to the fact that as a planetary mass, the Earth is finite and most likely will go through climatary changes as it has since the beginning of time. Which is why the Ice Age and dinosaurs are now gone - I guess if those cavemen had scientific "soothsayers" from Britain they could have done something about that?

The Grand Canyon was formed due to the flood, and erosion of the soil during the receding of the waters after that time. I guess all those that believe that the Grand Canyon was created as an Act of God and the splendor of it and geographic mavel is something the Prince Charles and global socialist wish to somehow in their deluded thinking to avoid?

The forest fires that are now being set throughout the world in order to keep the price of timber and lumber high, and also trade agreements has contributed to more carbon gasses and polution than all the world's automobiles.

And you environmental nutjobs are simply too incredible to believe. The ones who believe as Prince Charles does and those in California who are involved in this bogus movement for mostly taxation once again without representation in taxing the air people breather - who believe that painting all the world's homes white will somehow stop it should be put in straitjackets right about now.

Are you aware that foreigners own stock and controlling interests in much of the U.S. nuclear reactors and facilities, while this and the last Admnistration were conducting this bogus "war on terror."

Wake up, Ms. Dvorak, since it appears the California sun is cooking your brain.

P.S. And as also one who experienced Gustav in Louisiana (a hurricane whose path those geologists and scientists couldn't even predict other than about six hours before it actually hit land), your ideas and Mr. Gore's that somehow they can predict the extinction of this planet, and that "carbon" emissions are what are responsible is simply too incredible to believe.

Mr. Gore is heavily invested in public utility companies, and his book (most likely written by one of those scientists and ghost writers as his "payback" for his part in the last economic and banker manipulated U.S. Administration under Bush. Since the British, of course, now own this country lock stock and barrel after that other "liberal" globalist, Wilson, sold out this country at the turn of the century.

And economically and politically put its future in the hands of the very government this country fought for its independence form with their wacko ideas, and "class" style system of government.

This spells a completely different story about global warming. Regardless, we should still take care of mother earth.

One need only follow the reports coming out of Greenland where an International team of Scientist's are retrieving core samples from ice packs 5000 feet in depth. The question in my mind is not, does the unprecedented activity of man affect global climate, but instead, at what rate (over time) is man affecting global warming and climate, and to what ends can that change be determined?

For, the walking, stalking, screaming, drooling, addlebrained, banana pounding, knuckle-dragger's on the (R)ight to dismiss Climate Change as just a Liberal plot to irritate Senator James Inhofe from Oklahoma, I ask that maybe just maybe these people should stop listening to their own Climate Scientist's, Rush Limbag, Schemp Hannity, and Rupert Murdoch, and try tuning in to the one's with a .Phd in Science, not in evangelism.

You realize, of course, that the ice core data is all corrupted by water, creating a false low value? There have been other means of providing more accurate data since the early 1900's. It was exactly that type of choices in data collection that corrupted the basic climate change models used for Kyoto.

Do you know how they determined the age of the cores they brought up? They fudged the values until it coincided with what they wanted to prove. That's junk science at it's worst.

I'm hardly a "walking, stalking, screaming, drooling, addlebrained, banana pounding", knuckle-dragger, though I am on the right, which, by the way, doesn't automatically preclude either intelligence or scientific comprehension.

Neither are the 31,000 scientists who recently signed an ongoing petition which is still gathering signatures, refuting the Kyoto protocols.

PS: I don't listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Murcock, or Schemp. I also don't listen to Al Gore, or read the Huffington Post, or buy into the watermelon agenda.

I'm interested in science, and more than intelligent enough to read the data and decide for myself. I just linked(see below) to a 12 page paper by thee scientists, two of whom have your required doctorate degrees. The evidence against anthropogenic global warming is overwhelming, unless you'd rather close your eyes, put your fingers in your ears, and start screaming, "Nah nah nah nah..." like some of the other global warming die-hards, but, I hope you'll excuse me if I say at the onset that it's not a very dignified response.
