The tiny fig-wasp that measures hardly 1.5 millimeters is a world record holder among insects. Research has shown that it can travel upto 100 miles in two days!! The previous recorded distance travelled by any insect carrying pollen was just 6 miles per day. The tiny fig-wasp beats them hands down. Insects are the lowest form of life and we seldom bother about them unless they sting like the bee or spread disease like the mosquito or flit from flower to flower like the butterflies. Wasps also are dreaded creatures because of their stings but the fig-wasp is a special insect, especially the female of the species. The males are lazy and the females travel, pollinate figs and produce the offsprings.
