POLITICAL OPINION

A few months ago, I wrote my State House Rep Massachusetts District 6 Representative John Tierney. I clearly and without any doubt as to my opinion told him that if he continued to support the current version of the Health care bill in the House, I would not only NOT vote for him, but would actively campaign for the person who ran against him. I checked the NO box when it asked if I wanted a reply back.

A few days later I received a “thank you for your support” email and a link to donate to his re-election campaign.

If I donate anything, it's going to be a pair of glasses.

The DNC has a link on their website that allows you to voice your opinion on health care and I used this link to voice my opposition to the Bill. The DNC's website is awesome. It is as American looking as a website could look.

Then there is the RNC website – they could use a little help here. In case the RNC was sleeping and missed it over the last eight years, they've tripped down a few stairs and the result has been a slightly (understatement of the decade) damaged reputation. Having a website that screams communist RED everywhere and very little blue isn't the best sight for one to see when traveling to RNC.org. They need to look into a fix for those overly RED pages.

I could change it for them - wouldn't cost NEARLY 18 million dollars – and it would look 100% better than it does today. Heck, I'd do it for free – and I am certain, others would donate some technical design skills for free too.

I'm using the 18 million dollar figure because that's what the Recovery Accountability and TRANSPARANCY board got to have recovery.org redesigned. Mr. Earl E. Devaney – chairman of the RAT-B thought that was a major milestone!! I guess it has been, given the numbers put up on the website so far have included false information on numbers of jobs created and even Congressional Districts that don't exist.

Tax payer dollars are always so well spent.

But, I digress...

The DNC took a major hit this week and with it – I must chuckle. Why? Because, the Republicans had absolutely nothing to do with it ... (They're still trying to get their heads out of their a** in most cases and looking dumbfounded as they struggle to figure out where they went wrong. (Suggestion: Go to http://www.gop.com/index.php/learn/what_we_believe/ ) and actually READ IT. While you're there though – DUMP the Communist RED and add a little red, white AND blue. Showing America's colors is not promoting the DNC.

The DNC took a hit because of Sarah Palin. A conservative female who scares the beejesus out of the Democratic party, took the DNC's first major fund raiser right out from underneath them. All because she wrote a BOOK! Palin is not even playing the blame game in the book – but the DNC decided she's just too dangerous to ignore. (Their word, not mine.)

How do I know? Because they need glasses too. Like Tierney, they assume that because I went to the DNC website to COMPLAIN, I'm supporting them. They sent me an email a few hours ago.

Mitch Stewart at Democrats.org wrote ME an email titled:

SARAH PALIN

It said:

Maryann --

Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn.

It's dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term "Death Panels" -- and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.

Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.

As we approach the final sprint on health reform, we can't afford more deception and delay. We need to be ready for anything -- and have the resources to respond with ads, events, and calls to Congress when the attacks come.

So we're setting a big goal: $500,000 in the next week to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies. Please chip in $5 or more to help reach our goal.

Earlier this month, Palin publicly said that she hopes health reform will be "dead on arrival." And since then, she's been working fiercely toward that goal.

On Tuesday, Palin went on Rush Limbaugh's radio show where she outrageously -- and falsely -- suggested that Americans could "face jail time as punishment" if they don't buy insurance.

Palin has many more interviews scheduled on Hannity and other conservative shows in the next few weeks, with more platforms to go after the President. As soon as she does, the rest of our opponents will likely parrot those attacks.

We need to be prepared. And we're counting on you help. Can you chip in $5 or more?

_____________________________________________________________________

I guess they don't classify me as a partisan extremist - Oh, well.

Prepared for what Mitch? Is she like the Anti-Christ or something? I thought your party said she was STUPID and now she's DANGEROUS? Please explain.

If Democrats are this afraid of Sarah Palin now, and they're willing to raise $500,000 to fight off a person who isn't even IN office – it says a lot about the nervousness of their party.

Republicans should learn from this. Even if I personally hope Palin does not run on a ticket in 2012, I'm definitely happy to see she is sucking the first fund raiser for the DNC up.

The DNC is nervous. The American people are not happy that their newly elected majority party isn't listening to them and it's coming back to bite. If they have to raise $500,000 every time a conservative female publishes a book and goes on tour to promote it... than Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham, Elisabeth Hasselbeck – ladies - get the pen to the paper! You've got jobs to do!

Let the conservative females make their way onto the political stage and let the RNC get to work on making the website better. It's an ONLINE world now and one of the reasons you lost last time was because you under-estimated the power of the web.

As for emailing me “Mitch,” you and Tierney can get a “two for one” appointment at the local optometrist here in Beantown. I am not a DNC party supporter, Mitch. I'm pretty sure that was VERY clear in my emails. I also checked “no solicitation” on your web site when I sent your party an email. Asking me for 5 bucks ... well, that falls under the definition of “solicitation.”

GOOOOOOOOOOOO SARAH!

Sarah Palin feinitly has my vote. As a matter of fact we should install her after a military coup. lol. Seriously, I have never in my life seen anything like what ive seen from Dems and the main stream media's( which is the same thing)attacks on her. It is so obvious that they are trying to destroy her. It is having the opposite effect. It goes to show that dems are hipocrits. they claim to be the big tent tolerant party, but if you are a strong independant conservative woman who dares to have pro-life views, they mercilessly attack you professionally and personally. Maybe they should of have those 11 AP reporters fact check Obamas book. To your point on this article, Democrats are highly centralized and regulated about their websites and organization as a party. Where as Republicans are strongly independant and individualistic and it shows on their website. I prefer the republican philosophy. Palin will lead them back from the wilderness.

You wrote: "I'm definitely happy to see she is sucking the first fund raiser for the DNC up."

How do you make that cockamayme connection?

Sarah Palin is only dangerous, because she has realized that she can promote lies, exaggerations, and spead misinformation with impunity and all of her right winged worshipers will believe every thing she says with out question.

Queen Palin sits on the same throne as the other Republican party voices, like Limbaugh, Hannity, and all the other poison pot-stirrers.

Her book, which was written by a ghostwriter, in spite of Sarah's claims that she is a "writer", is so full of pious claims of mistreatment by everyone: including but not limited to--the media, McCain's campaign team, and Saturday Night live, it is considered by everyone she dumped on--to be a pure work of fiction, peppered with grandeous claims of credit for inactment of policy that she had little or nothing to do with.

Ms. Palin even claimed she had nothing to do with proposals to encourage shooting wolves from airplanes. But not matter how many fact-checking lies are exposed, Palin worshipers don't care.

That is what makes Palin dangerous. Plus the fact that not a single Republican has the stones to stand up and say what an inept politician she was and what a manipulating spokesperson she is for the GOP.

And you have read the book? What is the BIGGEST lie you read?

"Sarah Palin is only dangerous, because she has realized that she can promote lies, exaggerations, and spead misinformation with impunity and all of her right winged worshipers will believe every thing she says with out question."

You keep raising funds for her then ... I have no problem with tunnel vision.

It amazes me how brainwashed liberals are. Hey dragonfly, stop reading the democrat talking points. Think for yourself one time like conservatives do. You dont like Palin because they told you to. She had 11 reporters fact check her book and has wheathered a relentless attack all because she is pro-life. Where is the tolerant party? huh dragonfly? Nobody fact check President B-ditty's book. Oh and one more thing dragonfly ries using arguements instead of insults. thaqt is the reason the GOp is going to wipe out Pelosi's congress and Paalin is our next Prez in 2012. Thats why libs are scared of her and try to find any litttle thing.

I agree with the fact checking- grossly shows that the AP is slanted and I think the Dems WILL lose in 2010 by their own hand - not Palin's.

I don't think she will run in 2012 - and I hope she doesn't myself. What I do hope is that she continues speaking and making money for herself.

I'm a fan of John Kasich. - HE's an EXCELLENT guy to start backing.

Ms. write4life,

Do you really think "Mitch" will see your complaint and be denigraded by your sarcasm? The fact is, every campaign web site, Republican or Democrat, is set on auto-response and all of them ask for donations. It's not called "soliciting", it's called "fundraising".

As for Sarah Palin's propensity for falsehoods, I do remember a few years ago, that she proposed a bounty on killing wolves by paying hunters $150 bucks to bring in the severed foreleg of a dead wolf. The voters didn't pass the proposal.

Palin also tried to deny that her husband belonged to a group that wanted Alaska to part ways with the United States. There were e-mails and so much evidence to prove it, but she told McCain's campaign staff that it wasn't true and to make it go away. They have copies of her e-mails to show her effort to cover up anything that would make Todd look like he was involved in any anti-government organizations.

Palin is a self-serving liar and the only reason she is able to get away with it, is because most of the old white farts in the Republican party think she is just the cat's meow.

Thankfully, the polls show that women have begun to see through her facade and are not as gullible as the old farts.

Really? Then why do they ASK if you want to contribute? Then ASK if you want to be emailed? Then ASK if you want to receive coorespondance about the DNC?

"As for Sarah Palin's propensity for falsehoods, I do remember a few years ago, that she proposed a bounty on killing wolves by paying hunters $150 bucks to bring in the severed foreleg of a dead wolf. The voters didn't pass the proposal."

You're spinning that too. I wrote an entire article on how that is spun by the left- but you obviously don't do research.

I'm not a huge Palin supporter. BUT, I do find great humor in the whole need to execute her again by your party. Didn't do enough slandering the first time? Didn't put the taxpayers of Alaska through enough with ethics probes that were all DROPPED?

Keep it up - It's a great CHRISTMAS present to the GOP!

I actually state in the article I hope she does not run in 2012 - However, I do hope you waste all your early campaign fund raisers trying to make people hate her. 2010 isn't too far away either.

Fund raisers for people not in office... Do the Democrats know how to spend money? YOU BETCHA~!

Auto responding with e-mails like that sends out a bad impression regarding the party. Palin isn't even a politician any more. They should focus on themselves rather than worry about what she has to say. I mean, if Potsie from Happy Days drops a book tomorrow, are they going to need another 500 stacks? If they actually do end up raising the money, they should utilize it somehow to improve unemployment. On another note, although it probably would be a good idea for the RNC to reform the symbolical vibe of their website, there is no way they "lost last time because [they] under-estimated the power of the web". Maybe it had the effect of a percentage of a percentage point, but they lost because of their weak performance during the last eight years as well as their weak performance during the presidential run.
Reply By Write4Life Maryann Scarangello | 2 months ago
I'll agree it wasn't the only thing - but I do believe their failure to use the web for publications, counter arguements, to reach the youth etc... did play a bigger role than you think. Obama used the web (and still does) extensively. To the youth of America- the web is their biggest draw.

"they lost because of their weak performance during the last eight years as well as their weak performance during the presidential run."

AGREED.

Stupid and dangerous do go together because you don't have any idea what a stupid person will do. That makes that person dangerous. Right now, there is no predicting what Sarah Palin will do in the near future. Society always says that someone is dangerous who does things out of the box. However, it may be too late for her to convince the people to turn up the heat on their US Senators to not vote for the health care bill because it will create a $398 billion deficit.

Americans need a DEMOCRAT who will stand against his/her party and tell the truth. However, as with LA...they've too much to gain through earmarks to do so.

Sarah Palin's future is not in modeling simply because she is pretty. Those are the kind of sexist comments that deminish your argument

How about forecasting that Sarah Palin's future lies in speeches and advocating for the rights of unborn children and for many of the other ISSUES she defends and not make a comment that suggests her future is all about looks?

I actually was listening to the Laura Ingraham show the other day and she had two conservatives on debating Sarah Palin. One was for her and one said she was a detriment to the party. Well, I didn't side with either guest but more so with the idea that the more Sarah gets in the spotlight the better. She may not make the best candidate but I LOVE what she does to the DNC. She makes them cower and resort to petty attacks.

Bill O'Reilly recently brought up that the Associated Press had 11 reporters fact-checking her new book. Know how many reporters AP had fact-checking Obama's book? NONE! The Liberal's are really grasping at straws here.
