Actually it was a war more than a football match!!

All that violence happened simply assures that it was planned

The Algerian fans terrorized Egyptian supporters and threatened to take their lives with numerous weapons.

The rivalry between the two nations dates back to 1990, when the Algeria players hurled plant pots into the crowd after losing out on a place for the 1990 World Cup in Italy to the Egyptians. After the match-up, more chaos ensued, with Algerian striker Lakhdar Balloumi convicted and sentenced to prison after gouging an Egyptian doctor’s eye out with a broken bottle.
