THE University of Health Sciences (UHS) has notified the first selection list of candidates to be admitted to MBBS and BDS in all public sector medical and dental colleges of the province on open merit seats.
It took UHS 50 days to display first merit list after holding of the entry test on September 27, 2009.
According to a press release issued on Monday, the number of MBBS open merit seats in 11 public sector medical colleges of the Punjab is 1,961. The King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore, has 262 seats; Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC) Lahore 240; Fatima Jinnah Medical College (FJMC) Lahore, 160; Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMC) Lahore 142; Nishtar Medical College (NMC) Multan 229; Punjab Medical College (PMC) Faisalabad 251; Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) Rawalpindi 251; Quaid-e-Azam Medical College (QAMC) Bahawalpur 249; Sheikh Zayed Medical College (SZMC) Rahim Yar Khan 78; Sargodha Medical College (SMC) Sargodha 59; and Medical College (NSMC) Gujrat 40.
Total number of BDS open merit seats in 03 dental colleges of the province are 175. de’Montmorency College of Dentistry (DCD), Lahore, has 71 seats; Nishtar Institute of Dentistry (NID) Multan, has 54 seats; and Dental Section Punjab Medical Colleges (DSPMC) Faisalabad, has 50 seats.
Last merit of KEMU is 87.5545 percent, AIMC 85.9364, FJMC 84.3909, SIMS 84.2273, NMC 84.1455, PMC 83.4182, RMC 83.3364, QAMC 82.8818, SMC 82.8182, NSMC 82.7909, SZMC 82.6818, DCD 82.5818, NID 82.4273 and that of DSPMC is 82.4091 percent.
Call letters to selected candidates will be issued by respective colleges. Classes will start on December 2. Second selection list of MBBS and BDS will be displayed on December 16.
