Obama arrives in China for first visit

SHANGHAI: US President Barack Obama arrived in Shanghai late Sunday at the start of his first visit to China.

Obama arrived at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport aboard Air Force One from Singapore, where he attended the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

He will visit China for three days with stops in Shanghai, the country's financial centre, and the capital Beijing. His nine-day Asian tour, which began in Japan, will wrap up in South Korea.
