THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BEARS @ 49ERS

Tonight the 49ers hosted the Bears at Candlestick Park.

San Francisco kicked off to the Bears. Cutler comes out first, makes a completed pass for 2 yards to start it off. No 1st down, they were forced to punt it away.

49ers take over and Smith begins his first drive down the field from the 41 yard line. His first pass incomplete and out of bounds to Crabtree. San Francisco challenges that the pass was incomplete. After review, the ruling stands.

Smith continued to drive the ball down the field for 37 yards in 6 plays. He short passed to Davis who gained 6 yards and injured Bears - Roach on the play.

First penalty of the game was against the San Francisco offense for false start. Next play Smith is sacked by Harris.

Nedney and kicking team make their way out to attemp a 39 yard field goal. The kick was no good, his 3rd miss this year.

Bears regain control of the ball, only to go 3rd and out again and punted once more.

End of first quarter and everyone is scoreless.

Starting off in the second Cutler passes up the middle to Bennet for 9 yards to the 5 yard line. 1st and goal Cutler passes, intended for Hester, is intercepted by Franklin who returned the ball for 10 yards.

Smith takes over from there and is sacked. Next false start penalty on Davis. 49ers convert 1st down and head down the field.

Smith throws another interception, intended for Crabtree, Bowman returns for no gain.

Cutler takes over again and Hester is called for a false start penalty, and very next play he is called for holding for a total 15 yards in penalties in 2 plays.

Forte receives for a 37 yard catch.

Cutler is then intercepted once again, by Brown who runs 51 yards back within the 15 yard line. Smith passes to Gore the touchdown. Nedney comes out and his field goal is good.

Score is now Bears 0 to 49ers 7, with 1:55 left in the half. In the last 6 seconds of the half the Bears field goal unit and Gould kick is good for 50 yards.

Back from the half and the 49ers have control first, but with a 10 yard penalty for a block in the back. They end up punting away once again, with an unnecessary roughness called on the kicking team.

Cutler then is intercepted yet again.

Smith takes over and he throws an interception to Briggs, however this one is coming back and pick is erased.

49ers go for it on 4 and inches, Smith keeps it, but still falls short of the 1st.

Cutler takes over near the 45 yard line. Forte with a 31 yard catch. Hester runs with a gain of 2. Gould comes out and kicks a 38 yard field goal to add to the score.

Score is now Bears 6 and 49ers 7.

Smith comes up and completes a 20 yard pass to Crabtree. Next play they get a penalty for false start.

Bears take over and Hester 4 yard run is now 15, Battle face mask penalty.

Cutler passes to Bennett for 40 yards, flags down, penalties off set replay down. Unexpectedly ref's move the chains giving Bears 1st down.

Bears punt away and 49ers take over @ the 4 yard line.

Smith and company come out and try to get some room to work with. Trying to convert 3rd down, Morgan slips and pass is incomplete.

Chicago gets good field position to start their set of downs. Cutler is intercepted again, this time by Roman. (Although replay clearly shows interference) but there was no call.

Smith throws to Gore, who fumbles and is recovered by Morgan. Third and goal, Smith throws i away and field goal unit comes out and it is good. Making the score Bears 6 and 49ers 10.

Two minute warning, flags were everywhere. Cutler drives down in depseration with 52 second on the clock at the 39 yard line. Throws to Hester for a gain of 8, once more for the 1st down. Spikes the ball with 17 seconds left. Next he throws to the sidelines for a catch and getting out of bounds at the 12 yard line.

Last play of the game Cutler throws for the touchdown, but that is intercepted for the 5th time tonight and that is game.

Final Score Bears 6 and 49ers 10.
