My daughter, Marissa, finally graducated from college and so to celebrate, I planned a trip to San Francisco. Her 2 children, Emily and Tommy, my son, Tony and my partner Dave all flew into town meeting at the airport. Finding our hotel should have been easy, but for all the fog. We ended up taking a wrong turn (thanks Mapquest!!) and ended up in Pacifica, truly lost amidst the mind boggling fog. Thankfully, a police car pulled up behind us and eventually gave us a private escort to our hotel in Daly City. What a welcome! We did the usual touristy things - Pier 39, a great Dungenus crab meal, a ferry boat on the Bay, Sonoma wine tasting, a Redwood tree steam train trip, the Winchester house in San Jose, the beach and of course, pictures! We ended up at Kendall Jackson winery because one of my friends on Facebook (met her on Farm Town) works there. We are not wine drinkers but after 13 tastes of different wines, we've grown to like it! We got pretty tipsy! We also checked out a restaurant, "Tommy's Joynt", only because we saw him on Guy Fieri's show, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". What a wonderful dinner! Guy has never steered us wrong..haha! All in all, we spent 6 days there and enjoyed it. The weather was warm and was great having my grandkids and family around. One thing I would encourage you to do - if you decide to visit - get GPS!!! We got lost every single day we were out and about. Well, it was a great way to see alot of the city - getting lost!
