Is it me or does it seem like the world is suddenly deteriorating into the abyss? Do you ever wonder what you would do differently if you had God's job? (replace God with whatever your non-Christian God is, if applicable) Do you wonder if God is even in control of what's going on lately?

Let me tell you a little something about me, before I continue. I remember as a child there weren't any video games, as in anywhere. Perhaps someone smart and rich in China had created one, but no one knew about it. There weren't any desk computers-though I am sure it was created, but no one had one, not even the rich people. We listened to cantankerous radios with equally mind-boggling sized head sets-they didn't fit in your ears. We had 8 tracks-which coincidently looked like the first Atari game cartridges. My boss is a game freak, so I know they don't look like that anymore! Kids spent their entire waking lives outside, probably due to the aforementioned reasons. Funny, but Pepsi wasn't called that back then-it was called Tab. We got dirty, we stayed skinny, and in my area, the worst that could happen to you was someone of Japanese decent would kidnap you. (It was prevalent at the time, so we wore id bracelets and my younger sisters still managed to have a scare-which I saved them from). People didn't talk about abortion-perhaps because I was in a conservative middle-class family. We knew blacks, but they weren't an integral part of our lives, positive or negative. We certainly didn't know anything about Muslims-did any American at the time know about them unless they had one in their family?

How vastly things have changed since I was a little kid! It was shocking when President Reagan was shot. But now people's brains are being splattered all over marketplaces in previously little known areas of the Middle East. We see these images all over the news of every time of the day so we can have the delightful experience of discussing the events with our autistic child. We don't even flinch when we see these images now-we are so desensitized. We get a little more mustered up if it happens on our American soil. I assure you, years later when 13 Americans are blown up by a psychopath on a military base, we will reminisce about the good ole' days when it only happened once in a blue moon. Then, without so much of blink of an eye, we will continue on with our daily lives as if it didn't happen. I wish I were wrong. However, this is the trend so far that I have seen in my life.

Whether you believe in God or not, it was evidentiary that He or someone higher than us was in control when the Health Care Reform bill was passed Friday. The pro-choice people had to contend and rescind their fight to legalize murder and have it paid for by tax payers or the health care plan would fail. God clearly didn't want those who oppose murdering babies to be forced to pay for other people's lack of morals. Sorry if this offends you, but this is how I see it.

"If enacted, this amendment will be the greatest restriction of a woman's right to choose to pass in our careers," said Representative Diana DeGette, Democrat of Colorado. She concedes that "this amendment takes away that same freedom of conscience from America's women. It prohibits them from access to an abortion even if they pay for it with their own money. It invades women's personal decisions." Gee, Ms. DeGette, how do you figure that? People have been murdering their babies right and left for centuries-before their ever was a Roe vs. Wade, a country found on unified beliefs that was there to protect EVERYONE'S rights. All I hear is "I,I,I' from this crazy, selfish woman. What about pro-choice people, who don't want to bust their hump everyday to pay taxes towards murderers who discard their babies like trash? What about, most important of all, the babies who never got a vote at all? I am not a violent person, but I would love to find this woman and tell her exactly how I feel about her and her morals and beliefs. She sorely lacks any of the previous!

It seems equally frustrating that God seems absent when it comes the U.N running out of food aid for Somalia. Al-Qaeda has seemed to have won the upper hand. Without assurance that they won't intercept the relief efforts in Somalia, the innocent Somalians stand to starve to death.

Other factors contributing to the problem include a drop in donations caused by the world economic crisis and an increased need for aid across the Horn of Africa. The U.S is the largest U.N donor, bringing in food for 2.2 million people in Somalia in the past 20 or so years.

Many argue here at home that Somalia has been dependent for at least 20 years on foreign aid and need to be cut off from aid. Some Americans believe we should assist them in having birth control. I say we should have given the Somalians et. al. the necessary tools to care for themselves ions ago. Now we have a duty to feed them because they were promised and their lives depend on it. Why stop it now, after decades of relief? Do we stop just because we can't feed our own people? Do they care if we aren't able to feed our own people? Will we bring yet another country against us because we agreed to feed them through political contracts but now we are going back on our word? Where does it all end? Everyone wants something, but they are not taking responsibility for themselves and their livelihood. That's why our economy is in a state of disrepair. We wanted everyone to give us a handout and to give us free commodities. Then when the government went belly up and said no, we were forced to give up the lifestyles we couldn't afford in the first place.

That brings me to my first question launched in this article. Where is God and who is in control? I have had a huge miracle bestowed upon me by God this week. I know He cares with or without this miracle. I know he was in control when I lost my three kids two years ago. I know he was in control when my son was diagnosed with Aspergers (mild autism). I know he was in control when my dad nearly died from a motorcycle wreck 4 years ago, an accident in which wasn't his fault. He was in control when earlier this year my dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness he got from Agent Orange while fighting for our country in Vietnam. Thanks dad from your sacrifice this Veterans Day holiday.

But if you don't feel like God (or whoever you believe in) is in control and you need help, please click here. We all have those days. I have had many lately!

Excellent article. Thanks for the courage in saying what a lot of people have wanted to say for a long time, but have been too scared to say (me being one of them).

Hang in there buddy! You have every right to vent your spleen. Like Kristofferson suggested in his last album: God must be crying too. A little Faith can go a long way...patience too!
