Indian Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor will undertake a 4-day visit to Israel from Sunday to foster defence ties.

During the visit, Kapoor will hold discussion with senior Israeli Defence officials on enhancing the already strong military and strategic ties between the two countries.

The defence trade between India and Israel has grown up to $ 9 billion since 1999. Besides purchasing advanced military hardware from Israel, India is in a process of producing weapons and allied systems including medium range missiles with its help.

India is interested on working with Israel on submarine-launched cruise missiles, anti-ballistic missile systems, laser-guided systems, network centric operations, satellite surveillance, precision-guidance systems, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies.
