Why divorce at the age of 98?

Yes, when couples feel they are unable to live in the company of their partners, it is better to separate and go their own ways. It is quite common among the young and restless and, the famous ‘seven year itch’ explains it all. But, when 98-year old Bertie and Jessie Wood went in for divorce, eyes were raised. That is what the British couple has done – they have gone in for divorce after 36 years of marriage and have bettered the record of the divorce in 1984 between 97 year old Simon and 91 year old Ida Stem of Wisconsin, USA. The reasons for the divorce are not disclosed but, it appears Bertie did not survive long after the separation and Jessie is in a Care Home.
