Australia retains No. 1 position in ODI

Ricky Ponting will take home the trophy and Australia will retain their No. 1 position – but, why did the Indian batsmen commit suicide in Guwahati in the 6th ODI of the series against Australia? Was it the after effects of a late night party with plenty of booze? Or – and this is more important – was there any betting involved and was money paid to lose? Otherwise - can anyone accept such a poor shot from Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster when he gifted his wicket away with the score at 25? His was the third wicket to fall. Virendra Sehwag is an unpredictable batsman – ‘if he stays for 20 overs, India can win any game’ is what his supporters say. But, his flash-in-the-pan innings does not justify his continuance in the team. Similarly with Yuvraj Singh – he still basks in the glory of that 6-sixers in one over game. Is there too much cricket? It is high time for BCCI to wake up and enforce some of discipline apart from provisions of penalties in case the players do not perform to their potentials.
