Forth Kind Alien case study

The Forth Kind, the title of the movie and also the terminology for Alien Abduction was subject to my intrigue and fascination last night.

Dr Tyler, a psychiatrist who was practicing in Nome, Alaska in October 2000 has her supposed real film and sound footage inventively brought to the big screen. Its contents, which we are led to believe are real, feature sleep deprived patients under hypnosis detailing their forth kind experiences. If abduction through ceilings caught on police video, levitation, death and suicide doesn’t draw you in then perhaps you should forget watching and stop reading! If she exists, Dr Tyler loses her husband, her children, her sanity and ends up looking like she hasn’t slept since 2000!

Alien Abduction is not a new concept, but The Forth Kind was compulsive, albeit after a bit of a slow start. It cleverly mixes periodic split screening of the real footage and sound recordings with big screen actors simultaniously portraying the hypnotized Alaskans.

My viewing will undoubtedly lead to personal net investigation into Dr Tyler, Nome and the Sumerian civilization which existed around 4000BC. The Sumerian language is apparently the oldest language known to man and is supposedly heard on the sound recordings. Sumerian relics, detailing alien like creatures and rocket ships in the sky, are well documented and on show in museums so there is more reason to be drawn in... I doubt I will be the only interested party trying to ascertain authenticity so The Forth Kind will either be the most fascinating film of 2009 or derided as a big hoax.

Since October 2000 the FBI have visited Nome 2000 times which, if true, is a staggering amount of times for an Alaskan outpost which can only be reached by plane. I do wonder whether something so amazing, yet horrifying, could be kept from the public for nine years before a film was made but that’s just the skeptical part of me thinking. Roswell details will no doubt be kept from us forever, so perhaps nine years isn’t that long a wait.

Take an open mind to the cinema and try to remember to close your mouth when the footage gets progressively more disturbing! The link to the trailer is http://www.thefourthkind.net/ which will whet your appetite if you haven’t planned to watch already.

I usually try to limit plot detail when I review anything Ive seen purely because I don't want to spoil it for people who are unaware. However, in this case, I think the unusual nature of presentation and the subject matter warranted not only a look but also investigation into whether the comments made about people/incidents etc are actually truthful or part of the film style. Thanks for taking time out to write

I subscribe to the view that the odds on Earth being the only place with life on it must be 'astro'nomically against. Maybe they are just too far away to be able to get here but I'd be amazed if in the future there is no concrete proof forthcoming on the alien front...
