An exciting find on Planet Mars

Paris : France | 13 days ago
Views: 93

The images sent back to Earth by the ‘Mars Express’ reveal a 35 kilometer wide crater with signs of erosion that could have been due to running water – an exciting find! No – there has been no sightings of any Martians – unless they chose to remain still when the photos were taken. ‘Mars Express’ is a Space exploration mission conducted by the European Space Agency. It recently flew over the planet and transmitted pictures of its terrain back to Earth. The images covered an area of approximately 22 square kilometers. Rudolf was the red-nosed reindeer and Mars is our lovable red planet. For whatever reasons, we have fantasized with this planet and conjured up visions of probable encounters with the aliens who, presumably, roam about on the planet. Would that happen in the near future?

After hearing about this on the news, I recently saw an in depth coverage of this story on the Discovery Channel. I find it so very interesting. I suppose it could be possible for some type of life to be able to sustain itself on Mars. However, I believe that if there were to be life on Mars it would most likely exist underground somewhere because of the environmental conditions. It still could be very possible for some sort of microorganism to exist somewhere on the surface, thriving in that environment. Because so many types of life have adapted and thrived in many different and some extreme environments here on Earth, we would be foolish to think that it wouldn't be a possible scenario in other places in the universe. Lifeforms could be similar to ours or they could be completely different, like nothing we have ever seen.

Whether or not some type of life presently exists on Mars remains a mystery. I do, however, believe that life did exist on Mars sometime in the distant past. Could that particular belief of mine be true? We may never know, but I hope that sometime in the future new technologies will allow us to find those answers and maybe more.
