the 2009 fall classic took place in new york and philidelphia. it was a very interesting series between the new york yankees and philedelphia phillies. the yankees took the championship in 6 games winning the series 4-2. the yankees played with a three man rotaion all through the playoffs. with cc sabathia aj burnett and andy pettite. the yankees first swept the twins and then traveled to LA to play the angels. The yankees beat the angels and then continued to play the phillies in the world series. the yankees had 26 championships before 2009 with their last coming in 2000. it has been 10 years since the last world series championship in new york. the yankees did win tho and they recieved their 27th world championship. and arod played great i nthe playoffs. he got his first world series ring and the four players from 1995 got their 5th. andy pettite Derek Jeter Geroge posada and MO all got " a ring for the thumb". and they all made their yankee debut in 1995
