Big Ten Down This year

Iowa lost to Northwestern, bringing a close to any chance a Big Ten team had of finishing the season with hopes of a BCS Bowl bid. I find it disturbing that as a whole the Big Ten seems to be taking a back seat to SEC, Big 12, and other conferences across the nation. Teams like Wisconsin, who where regularly a top 15 team, have disappeared. Is it the fact that most Big Ten teams play powder puff teams to start the season? Most Big Ten teams do not meet a real team till week 5. And even against average competition, fail to dominate, and sometimes fail to even win against smaller programs. Is there any hope for the Big Ten to rebound? Or are we mitigated to mediocrity?

Mediocrity will continue in the Big Ten because the best players go to the SEC, the Pac-10, and the Big 12.
