I've got to write an essay for english and for an advisory program on community. The topic is heroes. With all that's going on in the world, do we still have heroes? We sit here and watch leaders corrupt the systems and people we are supposed to look up to do terrrible things, but do we still have heroes? What is a hero? Who can be considered a hero? I believe there are still heroes. I believe we can find them in the most overlooked places. I think anyone can be a hero. I have a few heroes myself.
What is a hero to you? Who are your heroes? Or do we still even have heroes in our society today?
EDIT*
i believe a hero can be anyone. it can be a child. one who has cancer but smiles every day through the pain. a child who sees another person being bullied on the playground, and does something to stop it.
it can be a teenager. one who doesn't succumb to peer pressure just because "everyone else is doing it". a teenager who reaches out to other teens when they need it most. a teen who does something extremely unexpected for the good of another.
it can be an adult. an adult who is a firefighter, a soldier, or a police officer. it can be an adult who is a parent that is showing their child how to do right.
a hero, in my opinion, is someone who does even the most ordinary tasks in an extraordinary way for the good of someone else. a hero is someone who is always positive, and knows that they will conquer. a hero is someone that does good even when no one else is looking.
anyone can be a hero.
