This is a story about my son who works for the City of Foley, he is a G-man (Garbage). I must tell you as anyone would know it is a tough, smelly, bug infested job, but as they say somebody gotta do it!!!! The kicker is that in this economy with cutbacks, no raises and maybe a water cooler provided, instead of a Supervisor trying to keep up moral, it's as if he wants to belittle them as much as possible with things like not being allowed to stop by a store for a drink or no longer being able to take a treasure someone has thrown in the garbage. You know what they say, one man's garbage is another mans treasure. I am outraged because there is no reasoning behind it, they are not slacking on the job or leaving it unfinnished. My son has put shoes on neighborhood kids and given them bicycles that might have only had a flat that he fixes when he gets it home. I am hear to tell you it is unreal at some things people throw away. Someone please tell me how this is wrong, when you can give to so many who need it, especially kids. And by the way, this same supervisor, when a G-man DID THE SAME THING. One more thing I would like to bring to everyones attention is this: These people with the degree's who are now moving in on lower income jobs, to those of you who are hiring them, as SOON as the economy improves degree's are going to leave you High & Dry!!! You need to keep & respect the good workers you now have and remember RESPECT is EARNED NOT GIVEN just because you now have a Title. P.S. All you have to do is drive around,Foley at any time during the day and you will see who the City Slackers are!!!!!
