First Turkey, then Armenia.

Thanks initiator policy of President Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia's role in the region has become a leading, as evidenced by its mediation in resolving the Russo-Georgian relations on the resumption of road transport through the Verkniy Lars.

This opinion was expressed today in Yerevan, secretary of the parliamentary faction of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov.

According to him, the Armenian parliament will begin the process of ratification of protocols Zurich, after this they will be ratified in Turkey. This arrangement is logical, given that it is Turkey at one time closed its border with Armenia, said the deputy, adding that Armenia did not take a unilateral commitment to normalize relations with Turkey. He stressed that on December 7 scheduled visit to the United States the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, on the same day an opinion on the protocols required to submit its opinion to the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Majlis of Turkey. "Without a positive conclusion of the commission are unlikely to accept Erdogan at the White House," said Sharmazanov.

The status of Nagorno Karabakh should be determined not less than the current level, the MP said. According to him, while in Baku did not recognize that Nagorno Karabakh will not be part of Azerbaijan, the Karabakh issue is resolved. Sharmazanov stressed that the international community, as well as Armenia, stand for peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

The representative of the Republican Party welcomed the deepening of Armenia's cooperation with NATO, in particular, the participation of Armenian peacekeepers in international operations in Kosovo and in the near future in Afghanistan. According to him, a unit of the Armenian motorized rifle troops will be deployed in northern Afghanistan, directly under German command, but before the issue of sending Armenian peacekeepers will be considered by the Parliament of Armenia.
