Cheney, the Greatest Con in History!

Last week in a Bush Administration reunion The war mongering liar Dick Cheney received the super-prestigious "Keeper of the Flame" award and watched as beloved Bush administration felon Scooter Libby was honored with the "Service Before Self" award for falling on the sword for Cheney and being a first class liar which was a prerequisite for being involved with the Bush mis Administration. Shit eating grins all around! However a retired General did slam Cheney for his war fighting ineptitude

It was shocking that criminal charges were never taken out against Cheney as it was obvious the arrogant scum lied about everything. Cheney when questioned lied and said he did not remember anything about Joe Wilson, Valerie Plame, or Scooter Libby but there he is on a stage getting the Keeper of the Flame Award for being treasonous next to Scooter receiving the Service Above Self Award for sacrificing himself to protect Cheney. They all had great laughs as they got away with their treason and were rewarded it for it.

That lying war mongering arrogant scum said I don't remember "72" times. That unequivocally means "I'm lying" I do not care what you think, I do not have to cooperate with you peons, and you can't touch me ..I.. (You know what that means? up yours! They are both famous for that. Bush and Cheney were and are lying, Scooter Libby continues to lie. He fell on the sword for Cheney and was issued the "service Before Self" Award. I just do not get it! How do they continue to get away with this FU in your face lying arrogance thumbing their nose at us and America and putting the Democrats down and get away with it?

Libby and Cheney along with the whole bunch of cronies on the stage had sh@* eating grins knowing we lied and we not only got away with it but got awarded for it. Cheney had memory loss when Federal investigators questioned him. He had amnesia, he doesn't remember, he has no recollection. That lying crap who once bragged about never forgetting anything. Remembering everything! I wish he was still in that undisclosed location. I wish he would cut the obvious lying BS. I can not believe he continues to get away with these lies!

This idiot doesn't act like a vice President. He acts like the guilty defendant he is! We are powerless to do anything about it! We were flat out lied to until Cheney and Bush found a lie people would believe so they could attack Iraq to start what they thought would be their new middle east order but you know it as disorder.

Libby's own notes prove Cheney lies but it does not bother Cheney he does not digress. Scooter had Valerie Plame issues he discussed with Cheney written down and Cheney still gets away with lying saying he doesn't remember any of it. Who cares if he remembers it, we know he did it! How does he get away with saying he doesn't remember? All he could remember is that he had nothing to do with the treasonous act of outing Plame as a CIA agent because her husband disagreed with the lies he and Bush were saying.

He said he knew absolutely nothing about who outed Valerie Plame when Scooter Libby had it written on paper that Cheney told him. I don't get it? Libby is now a felon and they give ham a friggen Award for it. Service above self yeah lying for Cheney at our and the world's expense. This all sickens me! We are lied to beginning to end and they laugh at us. WTF? What about Karl Rove who they said was not involved and we found out he was and we could do nothing about it?

We never got the truth and we never will! As usual when someone finally does tell the truth they are just dismissed as a conspiracy theorist or a disgruntled employee. Bush declassified information at Cheney's request who then gave it to Libby to leak! Valerie Plame was outed, no one remembers anything, and their are accolades sh@* eating grins and awards all around, have a nice day!

Cheney treated the media and all of us with total disdain and still is in his attempt to make Obama fail. He knows everything but tells nothing unless it benefits his lies. He is a totally lying fascist war mongering scum and we will never be able to hold him accountable nor will we and the world ever recover from their all pervasive damage for years to come if ever!

I love how these criminals get rewarded for their evil behavior. I'm still waiting - PATIENTLY - for this previous administration to be prosecuted. In the meantime, I'll just keep signing off on petitions through well-respected organizations that I'm a part of. I also love how, all of a sudden, the evildoers can't remember anything important and claim amnesia.

Excellent report, James. And by the way, I still have a dream:

I also love the pic you posted. Too funny and too cute!

Thanks Steph! They will never be held accountable and it stinks. Thanks and I still have a dream too!

James - don't hold back, tell us what you really think!

I wonder if Cheney's received his award in a hall full of smoke and mirrors. What a monster he was and is.

There is a precedent for NOT going after previous Administrations because if you do it it means the Administration after you will do it to you and it will just be an endless cycle of hindsight being 20/20 and questioning everything for the cause of questioning it.

Two things are very important and Ann Coulter of all people as well as Robert Novak before he died this Summer both pointed out that the reason it was NOT a felony to out Valerie Plame is because she had a desk job and was NOT a spy. Nor was it really hard to find out she worked for the CIA. Granted now that more information has come out it looks like someone in the previous administration was behind this and that they got approval or let other people know it was going down before they did it.

Now Dick Cheney was a very hawkish in his days in the Administration and he promoted ground war as the answer to many things when it didn't make sense. However I will address the whole notion about proper responses to terrorism in an article I plan to write today. Look for it later.

Hi Punditty! I'm sorry I held back. I guess I did not include that link but it was wide in the open on a well lit stage. I refuse to believe they get awards for lying and will get away with it. It sickens me!

I know Bryansix! That makes sense of course under normal conditions but those are gone forever. They will not but they should be held accountable for destroying world and US order, betrayal, crimes against America and the world, and treason!

Get over it. He helped keep me & you safe after 9/11 for seven years running.

This current administration is full of crooks, criminals & liars the likes we have never seen. All the way up from tax cheat Charlie Rangel to every other Czar appointed by Obama.

The reason they have never brought him up on charges is because they have nothing on him. It's a waste of time to try and stain the man's record. I'd take him any day of the week over Joe Biden.

SO would I. Cheney is a liberal's W*T Dream. They just love to think he's a horrible excuse for humanity while ignoring all the crimes going on currently.

How about we all come to an agreement that Cheney discloses everything...

20 minutes after Obama tells the truth about all the questions before him and NO - I don't mean his birth certificate - but things like - Reverand Wright, Bill Ayers, Soros, Rezko, ACORN, that he received the second highest amount of campaign $$$ from Mae and Mac behind only the worst of them all, Dodd...and he only managed to be in the senate for how many years? Since 2005? How does one go from virtually nothing to the highest office -

The biggest avoider of full disclosure is not a member of the past admin - it's the leader of the current.

He did not keep us safe! We were not attacked despite his lying and war mongering. The scum is a low life and right up there with Bush, Cheney, and Rove. Funny but I am doing a comparison of the two in regards to Fascism. If you run into it, it will make you think! Bummer about Fort Hood. 12 dead 31 wounded and the guy was a major with an Arabic name. The soldiers were forming to go over seas. Damn it!

Sudan's former defense minister Elfatih Erwa admittedly stated he tried to warn the Clinton administration that letting Osama bin Laden escape from the Sudan to Afghanistan when they could have captured him and knew exactly where he was...was a major mistake.

Then there is Mansoor Ijaz who was the lead negotiator with Sudan for the Clinton adminstration from 1996 to 1998 TWICE offered bin Laden up for arrest - the Clinton administration failed to act.

Ijaz (three months before the attacks on the USS Cole) said he: "brought the White House another plausible offer to deal with bin Laden, by then known to be involved in the embassy bombings. A senior counter-terrorism official from one of the United States' closest Arab allies - an ally whose name I am not free to divulge - approached me with the proposal after telling me he was fed up with the antics and arrogance of U.S. counter-terrorism officials.”

The Clinton adminstration passed again.

When will we question Clinton on what he really knew about binLaden during the 8 years he was in office? Isn't there anything one might say about INACTION or failure to ACT when national security is at risk?
Reply By SheilaReynolds887 SheilaReynolds887 | 10 months ago
and now some General wants to train Afgan soldiers just like they trained Osama bin Laden - they just don't learn from history and wasn't bin Laden on 60 minutes some time b-4 the attack - didn't he warn the U.S. government at that time?

James, being a news hound - you should know where to find the 60 minute film, right?

I don't care how nice you say Muslim people are - they have a plan and of course they're gonna be nice until it's carried out. Read the books of Kings
and the books of Chronicles - it's history of what went on in the middle east. Biblical Archeology confirms the existence of many things talked about in those books.

Hi Maryanne
I remember that Clinton could have gotten him. I also remember this was pre 9/11 and if you remember correctly the rights idiots in this country said it was illegal and they tied his hands.
Reply By Write4Life Maryann Scarangello | 10 months ago
No James - that's passing the buck. No one stopped Clinton from getting bin Laden - that's simply a tale of why CLinton did not. He aggressively went after him only to have him and for some reason - NOT arrest him. And the blame doesn't stop there... it went into the Bush admin and their overlooking the intelligence about his plans. Rice ignoring the briefing... to which one could only argue - that was only a few months into the Presidency of a newly elected person. Like now and like we have with OBama - one must only conclude all were to blame for the deaths of the people killed in the towers and on planes and the pentagon. That is why I so strongly say - THERE IS NO RAMP UP time allowed for a President. All the people who say Obama is new and needs time - BULL. The secod you're elected - you are in charge.

Clinton should have killed bin Laden and Bush/Rice should not have ignored the report. BOTH Presidents failed the 3,000 people who died.

Cheney's laughing all the way to the bank as long as Haliburton continues to exploit Iraq and Afghanistan because of the war. I have sent proposals to the Dept. of Defense showing how they could have both wars end within three months over the past 1 1/2 years and they have denied me each and every time. Thus; disaster will continue throughout the world.
Reply By Write4Life Maryann Scarangello | 10 months ago
This is misleading - Cheney has donated all procedes form the increase in any Haliburton stock to Charity. Now you can say he's laughing all the way to the bank - but you're just passing on false information.

Maryanne I know one side or the other would play that up but we should not be on a political side but on the side of right or wrong. I in fact remember how this was discussed often and human rights advocates screamed loud and often keeping the law and the public against him acting. Like Cheney you can bet he knew everything!

Good one, Jim. Cheney may be donating the increase from his 'stock' to charity, but he divested himself of most of that anyway. Where he really cleans up is in the increase in value of his stock options.

Now - perhaps this wasn't directed at me James, but it seems that it is - so I will defend my comment.

I have half a brain and I would say that there are several charities that have benefited from Cheney's turnover of Halliburton stock option profits AND that is not a false statement.

VERY few people donate to charity in large sums let alone sacrifice all future profits and that includes Bill Clinton and David Axelrod who did not sign any such agreement like the one signed by Cheney.

Now, say what you will but this is a fact - CHENEY gave up the rights to the future stock options 2 days before he took office and it is NOT reversable.

Since it wasn't read - let me cut and paste the factcheck article -

"Stock Options

That still would leave the possibility that Cheney could profit from his Halliburton stock options if the company's stock rises in value. However, Cheney and his wife Lynne have assigned any future profits from their stock options in Halliburton and several other companies to charity. And we're not just taking the Cheney's word for this -- we asked for a copy of the legal agreement they signed, which we post here publicly for the first time.

The "Gift Trust Agreement" the Cheney's signed two days before he took office turns over power of attorney to a trust administrator to sell the options at some future time and to give the after-tax profits to three charities. The agreement specifies that 40% will go to the University of Wyoming (Cheney's home state), 40% will go to George Washington University's medical faculty to be used for tax-exempt charitable purposes, and 20% will go to Capital Partners for Education, a charity that provides financial aid for low-income students in Washington, DC to attend private and religious schools.

The agreement states that it is "irrevocable and may not be terminated, waived or amended," so the Cheney's can't take back their options later.

The options owned by the Cheney's have been valued at nearly $8 million, his attorney says. Such valuations are rough estimates only -- the actual value will depend on what happens to stock prices in the future, which of course can't be known beforehand. But it is clear that giving up rights to the future profits constitutes a significant financial sacrifice, and a sizable donation to the chosen charities."

I don't really care if you like him or not - but don't say someone has half a brain for saying he donates his profits to charity. He's rich - I don't deny that - but Halliburton stock options are not what keeps him in the bank roll.

And I have more than half a brain - I have a full - head on straight brain, thank you.
