After the Militants infiltration in tribal areas of Pakistan from Afghanistan, tribesmen formed Lashkar (Group of tribesmen) for the safety and security for any possible threat from the Afghan militants. A group named Lashkar-I-Islam was created in late 2005 headed by Mangal Bagh.

Mangal Bagh, an illiterate and thoughtless was appointed as Ameer (Leader) of this group. Tribesmen were quite enthusiastic in taking part in the Lashkar and especially the aggrieved, who were exploited by the Tribal chiefs. In the early life of the group, he took good steps in eliminating terrorists, theives and Assassins. Public supported him for eliminating social evils. After the span of one year, he became the powerful man in Khyber Agency. At the end of 2007, Lashkar-I-Islam took control of 75% area of the Tribal Agency bordering Afghanistan. Suddenly, he changed his mind and called for the criminals, car lifters and vagabonds for supporting him and terrorizing tribesmen. Scores of people killed in the tribal conflicts and the moderate tribesmen who were doing their business and jobs were threatened for the sake of money.

Now, Pakistan Military has started operation against Laskhar-I-Islam and demolishing the supporter houses and huge population has migrated to the settled area of Peshawar city. The tribesmen are annoyed with what they had done in the past for supporting the group. The tribesmen opined that the group was formed by using the name of Islam but the functioning was evil.

In short Lashkar-I-Islam can be define as “Preaching of non-Islamic thoughts by an idiot man supported by idiots”
