I transferred my diploma yesterday from the lounge and hanged it on the wall in my office, on the wall to the right. I had to go to the city and get more money from the bank, so I drew out 20,000.00 pesos and went straight home. We had to get a supply of tiles and my wife decided to get a glass cutter to make an assessment on the windows so we can install the glass.

All the window grills, since installation were only painted with the red, flat undercoat paint. We had them all repainted white. A glass cutter came late in the afternoon. In the mean time, one carpenter was plastering the outer walls of the house while the other one worked in the kitchen, putting the tiles on the walls but being already superceded stock from a coop company at a reduced price, tiles were not white but off-white.

Being a school holiday for elementary and pre schoolers didn't make it easier because the little boy kept getting in the way riding his bicycle through the house all the time. My daughter Gemelyn had finished her board exams with Computer and Electronics Engineering and since there was nothing much to do she came home arriving at 4:00am.

Afterwatds, she helped me to set up my office, but first, the little boy started raiding through her bags and showed me something that he pulled out of one of them. I saw what it was and I took it from him because it was a brand new webcam and the installer that Gemelyn bought me in Cebu as a present because of appreciation of me sponsoring her board exams expenses.

Than the kid looked in another bag andd found a toy soldier that she bought for him and he went mad playing with it. Gemelyn unplugged the computer and I couldn't make any use of it at all, that was October 29. She took a damp cloth and cleaned the whole set up because it was very dusty. Problem was, being in the lounge there was lot of dust flying in through the big window because the carpenter doing the tiles had a side grinder with a diamond blade for cutting ceramics.

The other one outside the door was mixing cement and sand all the time and lot of dust came in from there also. The computer desk was the biggest to be cleaned up and we had to get the door off the hinges to bring it in but that was easy because the modern recycled, plastic doors come complete with the plastic archway and hinges. Doors don't need to be unscrewed off the ninges anymore, if you need extra space, all you need to do is just lift the door off and put it back when you are finished.

Computer was totally cleaned down and sat up with the printer and all in my new, modern office, and since the telephone is on a long cord, we transferred it back into the office where it always was before. My wife didn't want to let me sleep in my own room because she tried to claim it as hers. Her bedroom is the middle room as we call it and it's bigger than my sleeping quarters.

Where my office and bedroom used to be combined in one, and was the most shodily part of the house built because nobody wanted to build it and nobody cared since the house was built, it has become the best of the whole lot in the whole house. No more temporary floors or wall panels made of ply wood for me, it is now permanent. My wife was somewhat jealous about it.

Glass cutter came, measured and assessed all the glass apartures in the window grills and we paid in advance, the price of the job which would take two days was 15,000.00 pesos. Gemelyn installed the webcam in the computer and we made a chat with her elder sister, Jacky direct to Singapore, it worked perfectly, and it just shows that Gemelyn is an accomplished engineer.

Friday, October 30, there was still work to be done tiling the kitchen walls, and since we are able to pay the salari of the carpenters where out next door neighbor couldn't, they left him and are working full time with us. One was doing the tiling inside, the other one was plastering the walls around the place outside, they even brought their eldest boys to help. The boys sifted the sand and mixed the cement.

They carried buckets of cement to the carpenters and later grouted the walls when the tiles were finished. The glass cutter came with a load of glass in the afternoon and began the installation. They don't use window putty anymore to hold the glass in the frames like they used to do, he brought a glue gun with plastic containers of clear resin that was used to stick the sheets of gluss in place.

He used a hand glass knife to cut the glass into shapes, put it in the frame and glued it in place by squirting glue around the four edges. It took another day for the kitchen and the windows to be finished, that was Saturday, October 31, The All Hallows. My wife decided to go to Ubay and take the family with her for the long weekend which she did in the night. I will need to write a new report later THE ALL SOULS/HALLOWEEN. 5/11/2009.

interesting story. who is the little boy? your son or gemelyn's son?

The little boy Mark is my son, actually we adopted him from birth after his mother, a first yeat Commerce, University student abandoned him with us. He was a mistake to her by a Chinese student in the university dormitory who abandoned her heavily pregnant at six months. That girl's
parents gave us some support until the kid was baptized for milk and they
occasionally brought him toys and clothes, but they won't come anywhere
near us anymore even for a visit. Their daughter married some new guy who
told her to forget Mark and never come near us again after she brought him for a visit. She gave birth to a little girl but Mark doesn't know
    his sister. 6/11/2009.

The tiles had the diamond pattern but after the stock ran out we had to
buy ones with a different pattern that was like waves of water all over the place. They went in the lounge and the kitchen. 16/11/2009.
