After missing a week I am back with the rankings. Many questions have been answered and I have finally come to the place where I have no choice but to accept the rise of the Dallas Cowboys.

Also, let’s give props to Vince Young and the Titans. The kid came out and won his first game and hopefully that will give him the confidence to propel him through the rest of the season. The Titans have a lot of issues but from a personal perspective, I am rooting for Vince Young.

As for my Bears… they suck. Sure they won but it was against Cleveland. Their red zone play is horrendous and they still haven’t found a running game.

Now, the Denver Broncos earned my respect after winning their first five games but then they go and lose the Baltimore Ravens. I am one that has consistently believed that the Ravens are better than their record suggests. We’ll keep an eye on the Broncos but my gut tells me that they have peaked in the rankings. So here we go.

  1. Indianapolis Colts – Not an impressive win over the 49ers but I’ll just chalk it up to playing down to the competition.
  2. New Orleans Saints – Win over Atlanta was major and the balance offensive attack should worry everyone in the league. Plus, a very aggressive defense makes this team the cream of the crop in the NFC.
  3. Minnesota Vikings – As a Bear fan, there is nothing like seeing the Packers get beat.
  4. Denver Broncos – Is the loss to the Ravens foreshadowing what we can expect from this team henceforth? I think not but the barely won my respect and it won’t be that hard losing it.
  5. New England Patriots – Taking over the Giants spot in the rankings. What happened to the Giants?
  6. Cincinnati Bengals – Their next two games are against the Steelers and Ravens. Win both of those and they move to fourth place. A split will still earn them a spot in the top ten.
  7. Dallas Cowboys – Strong team and as much as I hate to say it, there is an argument for this team being hirer in the rankings.
  8. Pittsburgh Steelers – Honorable mentioned in the last rankings but they have a running game.
  9. Atlanta Falcons – Played a tough game against the Saints. Will be even better once they get the defense healthy and get the running game going.
  10. Philadelphia Eagles – Their offense is great but they’ll have to play more consistent if they want to make it through a tough division.
  11. ———- Second Tier Teams————-

  12. Houston Texans – By far the scariest team not in the top ten. The Indianapolis game is a big test.
  13. Baltimore Ravens – They never go away.
  14. Arizona Cardinals
  15. Green Bay Packers
  16. NY Giants
  17. San Diego Chargers
  18. Miami Dolphins
  19. Chicago Bears
  20. NY Jets
  21. San Francisco 49ers
