The largest car manufacturer in the world, Toyota, has stunned the racing world with its announcement that it no longer intends to fund or participate in Formula One.

In a statement released through the Formula One Web portal, Toyota said that fiscal concerns guided their decision to withdraw. Formula One racing in on of the most well recognized international sport in the world.

Toyota's move now jolts the most prestigious racing association in the world with no Japanese automaker as a participant.

Beside Toyota, Honda and BMW have withdrawn citing similar concerns.

The racing ranks aren’t only evaporating with Formula One. Kawasaki has recently quit MotoGP of motorcycle racing and Subaru and Suzuki ended their participation in the World Rally Championship and Mitsubishi pulled out of the Dakar Rally.
