The aeroplane carrying 34 passengers was heading for Bulawayo from the Harare International airport in Zimbabwe. But, the plane, a Chinese made MA60, had to abort the take-off and the passengers had to be hurriedly evacuated. No, there was no technical snag – it was all because of a warthog that had wandered onto the runway. These warthogs resemble vicious looking pigs with huge tusks. The incident has sent a scare through the passengers. Incidentally, such aborted take-offs have happened in Indian airports which has experienced foxes and cattle and, in one case, a deer on the runway.
