Boat Accident in Malappuram,Kerala; Kills Several School going children
Nov 4,2009 Malappuram: A Boat accident has been reported in Kerala's northern District Malappuram. Boat carrying several School children (about 31) sunk in middle of river at Moorkanad. Several students are feared dead, majority of them where returning after school. The boat was a small boat, students where thickly packed during the journey. Death toll may increase. Fireforce and local people have started search for survivors.
Death toll: 8 (about 7 boys and 1 girl of Subulussalam HSS Moorkanad)
passengers : about 31 (HSS students of Subulussalam HSS Moorkanad)
A month ago a tourist boat in kerala's hot tourist spot met with an accident, resulting in death of about 44 people.
