U.S. President Barack Obama meets with the President's Economic ...

When 48-year old Barack Obama took over as the President of the US, people had very high hopes and expected sweeping changes all around. However, his slogan of ‘change we can believe in’ it is now a more concise ‘change is hard’. On the eve of his anniversary of assuming office, it is a case of 50-50 – a study carried out by CNN reveals that 54% are happy with him and his style of functioning while the remaining are not. The rating of over 50% indicates that people are, by and large, satisfied with him in spite of criticism over the handling of the economy. The Nobel Prize that he received for Peace could be a contributing factor – people believe that he can improve the employment scene as well as get the health care reforms going.

54% huh

it's sometimes surprising to see the actual statistics after being on the internet or watching TV. I swear sometimes i think his rating must be in the 30's (like W) after some of the stuff I read.

I think Obama's numbers are remarkably high given the ongoing attacks on him by the likes of Glenn Beck and that one so-called news organization he works for.

Once Obama gets health care passed, he will be back around 56 percent. The Great Silent Majority that backed Nixon in '72 are now standing with Obama. The loudmouths who keep blasting him for no good reason (as opposed to those who criticize him based on genuine policy differences) are actually helping Obama in the long run because objective-minded voters can see how a lot of the loudest attacks against the president have no substance.

thanks punditty for the additional inputs ... obama, like any other national leader, has his crictics and, the opposition tries to show him in a poor light ... it is a global tendency ... obama has to tolerate it and come out unscathed ... if his health care bill gets through, it would certainly be a major achievement ...
