Jakarta, 04 Nov 2009 - Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) through the Commission Council consisting of Ir. Dedie S. Martadisastra, SE, MM, as Chairman of the Council, Prof. Dr. Tresna P. Soemardi, Dr. AM Tri Anggraini, SH, MH, Benny Pasaribu, Ph.D. and Prof.. Dr. Ir. H. Ahmad Ramadhan Siregar, MS respectively as Members of the Council, have reviewed and decide cases of alleged violations of Article 17 paragraph (1), Article 20, Article 25 paragraph (1) a, and Article 28 paragraph (2) of Act No. 5 of 1999 related monopolistic practices and unfair competition on the acquisition of PT. Alfa Retailindo ( “Alpha”) by PT. Carrefour Indonesia ( “Carrefour”).

This case stems from allegations related public reports Carrefour monopoly through the acquisition of Alfa actions carried out in January 2008. After a series of clarification and examination of the report, in March 2009 acquisition of Carrefour KPPU set of Alfa as a matter of competition and begin the process of examination.
