Finally, a somewhat happy story. Simon Cowell has donated $160,000 to help save a little girls life. The music mogul donated money to Sophie Atay, an 18 month old girl who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Neuroblastoma.
Karine, 33, the girl's mother, had been campaigning to raise $800,000 needed for experimental treatment for her baby girl, but was still short. Simon generously pulled out his wallet, although, $160,000 is chump change to a man of Cowell's wealth.
Alexandra Burke alerted friend Cowell, 50, about Sophie and he paid the remaining amount necessary to get her the help she needs.
Doctors say immediate treatment could raise Sophie's chances of survival from 20 to 90 percent.
We all wish the best for little Sophie and her mom.
