The North Texas region is gearing up for the final week of the regular season in high school football. The matchups are unique in that most of the games in the area will have playoff implications.

Probably the best game of the area is Thursday night when the two top teams in District 6-4A face off. The Birdville Hawks will tangle with the Aledo Bearcats. The Hawks come in at a perfect 9-0 while the Bearcats are 8-1, with their only loss coming earlier in the season to the Weatherford Kangaroos. With both teams a perfect 6-0 in the district the championship and a top seed in the playoffs will be on the line.

Both teams are ranked in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram high school rankings and feature some potent offenses. Also an FYI this game will get some outstanding exposure via radio and TV.

On the radio you can tune into 92.1 KTFW, or log online to countryledgends921.com. The game will also be telivised live on KTXA channel 21,in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Check back on this and other key games as we get ready to crown some champions in Texas high school football.
