President Obama, used to the Halo Effect in reporting about his policies and actions, is not taking kindly to conservative criticism. Instead of seeing Fox News' reporting as coming from a different world view than his own, he has claimed it is not a valid news station at all. Therefore he has attempted to stonewall interviews with White House staff.
Other news stations, seeing that such a policy under another President could tend to backlash on themselves, have objected, and the White House seems to be bowing a bit to the collective pressure.
National Public Radio (NPR) is taking a poll on their news blog page called The TWO-WAY regarding the dispute the White House has against Fox News and how they are reporting political news.
Before you vote, think about how you define “Fair and Balanced.” Does it mean, like the White House feels, that it is fair and balanced only when you like and agree with what they say? Or does it mean that they allow varying points of views to be heard (albeit, opposing voices that are annoyingly screaming and talking over one another)?
Vote and make your own vies be known at http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2009
