Three Little Elections That Have Already Changed a Nation

Boston : MA : USA | about 1 month ago
Views: 2,201

Tomorrow's elections have already changed America. Even with Obama and Biden on the trail of outcomes in favor of their candidates, the administration has already been dealt a massive blow. Win or lose in NY, NJ or VA, the administration has lost.

The vast majority of American's do not support the Obama administration's attempt at the modern liberal takeover of this Nation. In fact, the more the administration and the liberals in Congress shut out the American people with their behind the scenes bill writing, lack of transparency and out of control pork riddled deficit spending... the stronger the movement against the radical left of Washington becomes and the more momentum the movement gains.

This administration and the blind followers of this administration are constantly stating there is some conspiracy against President Obama by radical right wing extremists. They have no argument or statistics to back up their claim, no fundamental knowledge that they are privy to that the rest of us are unaware of and nothing pressing on their agendas that back up anything that they claim. They yell louder than they did against President Bush – and this time in defense of a President who has done nothing but expand government control over the people of this Nation, done little in line with his campaign pledges, and will not fulfill the very first of his promises as President – the closing of GITMO.

They blame the talk show and TV show hosts who they claim are “lying” to the America people and yet when these “liars” expose corruption that cannot be denied, or statements that cannot be retracted, the revert back to the “damage of Bush.” In other words, their defense is a 5th grade tactic of diverting the attention from the real issue. (Blame George for what Barry did because the class never liked George to begin with.) What they are missing is that we, the People are not passive any longer. We are not ignoring the activity around us. Americans are not accepting that this President is doing us favors by taking over every sector of America, bailing out companies that should shut their doors with money we do not have, by pampering the Unions at the cost of small businesses and by passing radical reform – not because the People want reform – (in the state it is SAID to be proposed) - but because they CAN.

Ironically, we must actually thank the left and former President Bush for the current state of our political awareness. Together they rattled the sleeping giant. What the left fails to see is that they are defending what they should so proudly be accepting as a creation of their own. A modern political awareness that has not been seen in decades.

Tomorrow three races will be run that the media is watching very closely, as too are many Americans. If the Republicans take seat in Upstate NY, and over in NJ and VA, people have said that it will be a reflection on the Obama administration's dropping popularity over the past 10 months. The AP still attempts to make this a GOP issue by running an article today where the title “GOP Victory Tuesday won't erase party's problems” says pretty much what MSM wants us to believe. However, what the article lacks is that no one is saying it will erase all the problems of the Republican party. The GOP is struggling right now. The GOP is struggling from lack of leadership and a sway from its base in an attempt to somehow redefine the party as a more "moderate" party. No one expects Tuesday's outcomes to erase these problems.

Yet, it is true - the GOP will win big on Tuesday if they take victories in NJ and VA. A victory in NY will not be a GOP victory – it will be a wake up call to the GOP. American's are not left of center, but right of center. Despite a true attempt to remove values and morals from our core as a Nation, we the People do not accept this. It is not OK with the majority of American's that “In God We Trust” be replaced, or that the American flag should ever be pulled off the flag pole of the local middle school, or that the school be taught to sing a song praising the President. We are not a nation of followers, we should not apologize for being American's and we SHOULD NEVER accept that we are an evil nation. There is great good in the hearts of the American people and there is great pride as well.

The current administration is learning the hard way that you cannot campaign on a moderate platform but govern with a radical left platform and not have it haunt your every move.

Regardless of Tuesday's outcome, the people have already been heard. 10 months ago, the idea that any of these races would be won by a Republican (let alone a Conservative) would have been laughable. Laughable has been replaced by plausible and the Nation will continue to follow this administration's every move as we push closer and closer to the 2010 elections and a foothold in a right of center government.

Replacing Republicans with leftist extremism was a mistake. Placing faith in a campaign that answered nothing and stated nothing was a mistake.

The true time for change begins now. There is no room in this country for the radical, tax crippling movement that we have allowed to assume the lead of our Nation. We've faltered and we will pay greatly for this mistake, but never again should we allow the Republican party to moderate its ideology for the sake of the left. With the election of Barack Obama – it is now perfectly clear that we've put in play a move toward government overhaul in this country and it is also true that American's have voiced their discontent and lack of tolerance for these movements and are louder than ever thanks to the vocal expressionism the left brought back to American politics.

The closed door meetings, the fix of polling questions that favor a certain response, the lack of communication and the blatant shut down of transparency has shown the American people that there is no middle ground with this administration – and the change promised was not better – and in fact, may be much worse and more difficult to correct.

Tuesday's outcomes will be a great win for the Republican party, regardless of the results. What will come out of the mouths of the administration, the AP, The New York Times or any other liberal “media” source may not echo this. With three wins, or no wins, the tide has turned and the Obama administration is losing its grip.

Change IS coming.

The only one that would have major implications would be if Gov. Corzine lost because New Jersey usually votes Democrat. Virginia normally votes Republican. Gov. Caine was an aberration in Virginia, which is why he was smart enough not to run for another term in Virginia.

Actually, Virginia governors are only allowed to serve one term, so Kaine had no choice. The NY-23rd has always been a Republican district, and Virginia is still a Republican-leaning state.

I don't think this is a big GOP victory even if they win all three. What I'm seeing is a "plague on both your houses" reaction from voters, and 2010 might be a bad year to be an incumbent, not just a Democrat.

I actually agree with that comment Mike.

Let me juxtapose the Obama regime with a situation I had had in the 4th grade.
One day a foul odor arose from the back of the class where I (let's call me George just for the heck of it) and the teacher's pet (let's call him Barry just for the heck of that as well) were seated. Barry for some reason was not looking well and had his head laid on his desk, while I was trying to listen to the instruction from the teacher. The teacher finally detected the strange smell in the air and directed me to leave the room and go to the restroom. I said that I did not have to go to the restroom but, I think Barry was ready to go though. The teacher insisted that I go to the restroom for she was sure I had fouled my pants. Once again I resisted and said "NO, Barry has pooped his pants". Finally both Barry and I were told to go to the restroom. I walked to the restroom with Barry and then returned to the classroom informing all that yes indeed Barry had pooped his pants. Barry had to call his Mom to come get him so he could go home for the day. So even though Barry had pooped his pants and fouled the air, George was somehow to blame.

The race that has been a revelation has been the one in my homestate of NJ. This was supposed to have been cake walk for incumbant Jon Corzine. After helping elect Obama with 57% of the State's vote, this should have been free pass to the State House for Corzine.

He campaigned on lowering property taxes which are the highest in the nation and in fact they have gone up instead. He has not created any jobs and has hurt small business with tax after tax increase. His approval rating was in the thirties at last check.

Despite all of this he has been able to put his personal war chest of millions earned from his days at Goldman Sachs and run negative ad after negative ad. He has had Obama campaign on his behalf 5 times and he still cannot get over 42 percent of the vote.

That Christie has remained on top for practically the entire campaign says alot about the mood of the State and the country. I will be presently surprised if Christie wins because I am still concerned about the potential for voter fraud in some districts that are notoriously known for this type of behavior. The early voter registration forms are a concern and from what I heard the Democratic Party isued a directive not to check validity of signatures.

Nonetheless this is big on all fronts. It is a major referendum on this administration and if I am Blue Dog Democrat and there is a Republican sweep, I would stay as far away as possible from any of these Healthcare Bills especially if they include any form of Public Option.

Shawn Hannity is the most one sided "news" anchor in the industry, as he would disagree with any move President Obama or any other Democrat that says anything for that matter. Hannity is the most prolific propaganda dispenser this side of the Atlantic....

    cornfed,

He is not a news anchor. He gets paid to give opinion much like the Op-Ed pages in any Newspaper. I think Rick Sanchez at CNN may have fit your description a little better.
  • Reply By Dragonfly6878 Dragonfly6878 | about 1 month ago
Actually, his name is spelled Sean Hannity and Cornfed is right about him, because he certainly fancies himself to be a "news" anchor.

Rich Sanchez compared to Hannity? I think you are confusing him with Lou Dobbs.

At least Sanchez manages to get the CBO report's cost on health care reform correct at $829 billion, whereas last night Hannity was showing the CBO report's cost at over a trillion dollars. The man can't be so stupid that he can't read the report, but it is much more effective for his scare tactics to give false information.

OK- your point? He's not even mentioned in the article and for every single person you point out that points out negatives with Obama there is a left sided commentator to push the opposite token.

It's a perfect example of freedom of speech - there are idiots on both sides - although, I would have to disagree with you that Hannity is one.

I will apologize for posting this here. Not the content just where it was posted. I have no idea what I did to post this here because this is not the article that the comment was intended for. I understand that he is a political commentator but with his position so far on the right it seems like he is a infomercial sales man...."Your gonna love my nuts".

Actually, I think Hannity is the worst of all of them. Rush is at least friendly, but Hannity gets very angry at times. Being from Massachusetts, you may know the time. He's like a drunk little Irishman in a bar in Southie.
  • Reply By Write4Life Write4Life | about 1 month ago
I like Hannity - I think he tells it like it is, doesn't act like a show man and doesn't play to the smoke and mirrors. I will agree that he was slightly more balanced with Colmes.

A drunk irishman in a bar in Southie. No such thing. It should read - a drunk irishman in a bar in Southie lying on the floor getting kicked in the head by his wife.

    Now that's Southie.

    Political news?

    I doubt it.

More like strictly opinion - and when it includes a whopper like "The vast majority of American's (sic) do not support the Obama administration's attempt at the modern liberal takeover of this Nation," heavily biased opinion.

Not that we expect anything else from the conniebots.

Georgia Dude - What exactly is a conniebot for those of us who don't make up words that are not in the dictionary.

    Dragon,

That figure of $829 Billion is what the WH wants you to think it is . The CBO can only score a bill based on information given them. The Baucus Bill you are referring to was scored on based on conceptual language. The 1.3 Trillion Hannity refers to is for the House version of the Healthscare Bill which includes the Public Option.

A lot of these cost estimates are low and we all know that the cost always is higher.
